some general hair questions.

the search feature is being dumb tonight. :(

i do have a few questions, though, lol.
1) i've dyed my hair twice since september.. once
in september with colorsilk, and then in early november with
garnier fructis.. and now, i've been battling breakage
and dryness that nothing seems to help. i deep
condition weekly, and seal/moisturize/wrap
at night.. what else do you recommend?

2) i'm a freshman in college, and i go out a lot
on the weekends, and hang out a lot. i like to
do protective styles, but i'm young and i feel
insecure doing styles that look too "old fashioned"
for me.. any suggestions on cute protective styles
that are suitable for a 19 year old? i'm also
limited on time as i'm alwayyyys busy, haha. i do
a lot of buns, but i feel like the ponytail is causing
breakage or something because the middle of my hair
is shorter than the bottom.. it's hard to explain, but
it makes my ponytail look thin because it's not
all one length, and has always been this way even
before my journey.. prolly due to tight ponytails?

3) i need some moisturizing leave-in suggestions!

What are you using to deep condition?

When's the last time you did a hardcore protein treatment?

well, i used the aussie moist 3 minute miracle mixed with the garnier fructis 3 minute stuff + some cholestoral, then i recently bought that garnier triple nutrition deep conditioner and mixed with olive oil..

i haven't used protein in a while. i used to alternate between DC one week and protein + DC another week.. i didn't really see a different tho. i'd mix an egg + hair mayonnaise and olive oil for my protein treatments.

You should try to incorporate a hardcore monthly protein treatment into your regimen. Maybe Aphogee 2 step, or Nexxus Emergencee, or you can search the board for some other suggestions.

You should also incorporate a weekly reconstructor into your regimen.

Follow w/ moisturizing DC's and over time you should see a difference.

Being relaxed AND colored, you're definitely going to need to incorporate protein into your regimen on a regular basis.
