~~~SOME DECISIONS (DONT HAE ME GUYS)~~
After being a faithful follower of prepooing I have decided to stop it for a while and see my results. I mean I sometimes feel as though I am wasting my good conditioner when I prepoo and then get in the shower and I feel as though I just shampoo it all out because after Im done shampooing with my Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo my hair feels kinda moisturized but it basically feels the same as when I dont prepoo....
I decided that Im just going to shampoo and deep condition....I know there has to be ladies out there that dont prepoo because Im positive I have seen threads about it....so my question is to those ladies...Is your hair still soft, moisturized, and healthy without doing the beloved prepoo??
girl please! everyone's hairpath is different.
I prepoo only once in a blue and my hair's doing great!
Find what works for (and feels best to) you!!
I only prepoo if I'm going to use heavy protein. If I'm going to poo with my regular trusty ole CON, I don't see the point of prepooing.
I never prepoo, although I have in the past in lieu of deep conditioning, in order to save some time and prevent myself from having to jump back in the shower a 2nd time.
But, my normal reggie does not include prepooing and my hair is fine. Actually, I think prepooers are aminority on the board. Not everyone does that.
I've never prepooed. That whole thing sounded messy and like such a waste of time.
Really everybody responds differently. So do whatever works for you and don't worry about what works for someone else unless what you are doing isn't working.
Good Luck!
I stopped prepoo as part of my regimen a while ago. However, I used to prepoo with oils, not conditioners. Every once in a while when I think my hair needs an extra boost of moisture, I'll prepoo. Otherwise, I don't prepoo regularly.
I don't prepoo anymore b/c I am not really sure what it's supposed to accomplish. Considering all the conditioner I use after poo-ing my hair is so soft and moisturized that I don't think that I reallly need it. Maybe back in the days when I didn't DC.
I hardly preproo - the last I did it was probably last year September .. to me its not necessary most of the time .. i dont like an entire day to be spent on my hair...
Yeah I totally have forgone pre-pooing. I used to do it early in my hair journey, but then I started to feel like it was just too much. I vowed to myself to keep things SIMPLE, and I've found I really don't need this step since I specifically use gentle shampoos so my hair doesn't feel stripped. My hair is doing GREAT, I wash/dc 2x a week. No pre-poo needed.:yep:
LOL ... I've never pre-poo'd either, and my hair is flourishing just fine. I think you'll be alright, chica. :grin:
Hi :wave:JBH...I don't believe in pre-pooing; and my hair is very soft and in very good health.
Honestly for me it just seems like an unnecessary use of product and an unnecessary handling/manipulation to my hair.
I did at the beginning. And I do sometimes if I feel my hair is unusually dry or something...but it's few and far between. I don't use conditioner, I use oil....
I usually do it before I go to the salon, just to coat my hair before my stylist shampoos it (and the shampoo not dry it out). But other than that, I don't do it too much...
As everyone else has said, everyone's hair journey is different.
@ the bolded...me too. ETA: for me, it contributes to product buildup so I do it sparingly.
I no longer pre-poo. I was doing it early on in my journey as well and eventually it was all just too much for little to no difference in the health of my hair. My hair is always soft and moisturized with Shampoo, DC and proper moisture/protein, sealing.
Before i was using really moisturizing shampoo's it was usefull....With Creme of nature and EQP creme its not really nesscary, more like just deepconditioning 2x
