who uses them??

which are the best?

do you like them?

i'm thinking of getting one when i'm heading to college for when i'm doing my rollersets. I found some Conair ones on ebay that are purse-sized. would they be a good investment?

I bought the Gold N Hot Ionic Soft Bonnet Hair Dryer a few days ago. I really like it! Here is a pic. Looks weird, but dries your hair really quick!

Wow this is just like the one I have. I didn't know hot n Golden made this space ship design too!

I have one I bought from Sallys by Carel. It cost $30 and I use it 2 times a week and it does the job.

I have used a soft bonnet dryer on several occasions. I would use it when I needed to dry my hair quietly, like at night when my family was asleep. I liked it because even though it took a little longer, I could sit comfortably in bed while it dried. I have even taken naps with it on (although I DON'T recommend this). And it is easy to travel with. Definately a good investment.

Wow, do rollers fit in there? I saw one like that at Sally's, but I thought my grey magnetic rollers wouldn't fit.

I have the Ion one.

And yes they deflate when not in use and yes rollers can fit. I use the big grey rollers and have more than enough room. My hair dries in like an hour max. Under my hard bonnet it takes about 1 1/2 hrs and I cant move at all because I have just enough room to get my rollers under it.

One thing I dont like about the soft bonnet is its LOUD! Forget watching tv unless I wanna turn it up loud enough to disturb the neighbors. But its nice to have the option to read or go online or simply move around!

I had two of the ION soft bonnet dryers and both stopped working after about 2-3 months. Does anyone know where I can purchase the Gold 'N Hot one?

I've had the Gold N Hot one for a few months but the little round sticky things that give the bonnet the cushiony look all came undone at the top so now it kind of floats off my head and there isn't much room at the top. Not sure if I should try and invest in the Ion......

oh no, those spaceship airdryers, lol, i wonder how people would look at me if they saw me with that on my head, lol.

i found the Conair airdryer on ebay. This person has 98 of them. it's a purse-size dryer and it's a bonnet. I'm thinking of purchasing it. This girl at Wellesley and I are planning to learn to rollerset each other's and our own hair.

Mine just stop working too and I am not sure why. I only used it twice so I am really dissapointed. It works great though so I am going to buy another one but keep the box and receipt this time.

I went to Sally's looking for the Ion soft bonnet dryer and they said it's DISCONTINUED!!!!! Does anyone know where else I can get one of these?

I had one and mine died afet 3 months of twice weekly use. I might get one for deep conditioner treatments but I am trying to save money now.

Thats wierd because I just bought the Ion soft bonnet from Sallys yesterday. But I did look on their website and it did say it was discontinued. I saw another soft bonnet dryer there, and it was called Carel or something like that and I think it was around $30. Good luck!!;)

I have the ION and I love it even though it's funny looking. I have had it a few months and used it about 4 times, since I really don't use much heat. Please don't tell me it's gonna break on me!:(

I'm currently under this:

I love the flexibility of it and it's not really that loud. The bonnet is HUGE and m rollers fit under it. It gets pretty warm under here! The only drawback is that it seems to take forever for my hair to dry if it's in rollers, but I have very VERY thick hair and I think I am overdoing it on products.

This is exactly what I have too! With rollers, my hair takes a good 1.5hrs. to dry completely. It's not bad...I usually read, study or sleep while I'm under there.

How long do you guys stay under the spaceship one?

Lol!! Thats exactly what it looks like-a darn outer space gadget!! Anyway, it takes about 1.5 hours as well. I like the spaceship one, but something is telling me that I may like the Carel one better. The Carel looks exactly like the pic of the Hot Tools one.

Okay, jury is out. It died on me. I was like, what the hell? I know that a few of the ladies had said that theirs quit working after a few uses. *Sigh* I guess I should have listened.:perplexed Oh well, back to Sallys it will go tomorrow. I havent even had it one week yet. It dies for a lil while, and then all of a sudden it will start up again. I dont have time for that mess! Looks like Ill be trying the Carel soft bonnet next. Here we go again...:ohwell:

This is what I recommend you do. I recommend you buy the soft bonnet and then get a blow dryer instead of buying an all in one bonnet dryer. You will spend less probably doing it this way, you will have more power, b/c a blowdryer has more wattage than even the highest wattage bonnet dryer, and you will have the versatility of using the blowdryer should you want to do a blow out or something like that.

I have a soft bonnet that I purchased from the BSS for like $4. I already had a good blowdryer--the Ion Ionic dryer which has a cold setting. I don't use heat, so I will use it on cold to dry my hair. I have used this faithfully for abotu 6 months and love it better than any soft bonnet hairdryer that I ever bought. HTH.

I agree....I got mine from Sally's and it has an adjustable dryer attachment so it doesn't easily slip off and an extra strong bonnet. It was a little more pricey than $4.00, I paid $16 but I like it......

this is what I wanted to do, but I cannot seem to find the soft bonnets anywhere!

I have the ION bonnet. I was at my mom's house, and the thing just stopped. I pressed the little test thing on the end of the power cord and it was indeed getting power. I waited a few minutes, and it came back on. I think there must be something wrong with the electrical system of these dryers.

For the poster whose really died and did not save the receipt and box, I hope when you buy the next one (if you get another ION), you repackage the dead one and take it back and tell them it didn't work. Hopefully the new one you get will last.
