Hi guys, I had to share this with you, I have seen the soft and beautiful extend a perm kit in cvs for the past 2 years but was skeptical, well my daughter has a special occasion, I didn't want to take her to the salon but i figured i'll try the kit and if it didn't work it's only $7 bucks down the drain, well to my amazement, her hair felt so soft and manageable i couldn't believe it, I used it the lotion only on my head which is 9 weeks post relaxed and it transformed my frizzy hair into shiny and manageable hair. I LOVE THIS KIT, THIS IS NOW A STAPLE FOR MY DAUGHTER'S HAIR AND MINE WHEN I'M STRETCHING.

Have you guys tried this before share your experiences.

You know I did try the extend-a-perm a few years back! It was before all of my new staples to haircare but I did remember it helped to soften the new growth. I used the blow dryer to help straighten my hair with that 3rd step lotion... never thought about incorporating it now since I do not use heat. How did you use the lotion, as a leave in or as heat protectant for blow drying?

on my daughter's hair which is natural, I shampooed conditioned and used the lotion, then i put her hair in ponytails and lightly blow dried to dry her hair, I will be using a straightening iron on her hair for a special occasion for her on monday.

On my hair, I washed mine, air dried then put on the lotion and put into a ponytail, it looks shiny and you can't tell that I have all this new growth, I did not blow dry my hair.

I may have to add this in since I will try to extend past 8 weeks this time... that extend a perm may just do the trick! Thanks for the info:grin: .

my sister used it ONCE - she said it was a waste. Didn't do anything to extend the perm or at least the appearance of smoother roots. But hey it was less than $7 - so she wasn't too upset :)

I use to use this before when I blowdried my hair. I really like it. It gets my ng super straight and if I use it every week I can stretch for as long as the bottle lasts. I recommend it for anyone. I think its better for those who blowdry tho cuz it gives better results.

I agree with you, I just didn't want to add heat to my hair but it softened my ng tremendously, the bottles are small so it will get expensive because my daughter's natural hair is almost to her hair when stretched, she finished most of the conditioner in one use. but this is a keeper especially for her hair and for mine after 6 weeks post relaxer.

I wish I had known about this at Easter time. Everyone's hair was puffy and drawing up before we even left the house to go to church.

It was okay, though. The girls were happy because they had bangs.

Does it hold up to humidity?

:scratchch

I heard about this.... Its definitely in the PJ part of my brain for possible use around touch up time

So funny...I was in CVS with my mom looking at this product debating whether to buy it. Mom replied "just ask the ladies on your hair website, I know somebody has tried it" Even my mom knows we are all product junkies. How funny

Okay its confirmed...I will try the product because I want to stretch 21 weeks this time.

Hey Ladies

I have been on the fence about whether to try this product or not -- thanks for all the reviews. I will definitely give it a shot!

This site is the best!! I've seen this in the stores forever, and always overlooked it. I've been thinking ahead to the end of April when I'll be at 12 weeks post and going to a work conference in Vegas...thinking about how I'm going to look cute with puffy roots?! :scratchch I will give this a try!

i've had this in my closet for awhile. i never tried due to the negative pub it received awhile back. i just may give it a try :)

Bump...I saw this for the first time yesterday. I see there are mixed reviews on this. Has anyone tried it lately? Do you think it's worth buying?

Oo, I know I need to give in my own input about this product! I tried this on my hair which had about 3 inches of growth. When I bought this I was of course skeptical. In my mind I was thinking, "Oh this is going to be yet another $$$ wasted."

But I was wrong. After I washed my hair with this baby, I was shocked!! My natural roots + permed hair was soft and easy to manage. When I flat ironed my hair it came out looking freshly permed. I still have more of this product left, so after my I take out my braids I will def try it again.

:)

I just bought a bottle from my local BSS. It was about $7. I'm going to save it for my 12 weeks-post day. Right now, I'm a little over 2 months, so technically 9 weeks if you count the days and use the 7-day week:p

Anyway, I can get my new growth to lay down really easy right now. I'm going to use it when it becomes a REAL CHALLENGE:lol:

*I'm going to stock up when I see it. They hardly sell it anywhere anymore. I hope it doesn't become another Suave Milk n Honey:(

See, I didn't realize you had to flat iron your hair. This is what happens when you half read the instructions:lol: . How long does the look last for?
