Well, I finally decided to put together an album to start tracking my progress on my new challenge. I have quite a bit of past photos in there, not too many current ones, but working on that. This is an effort to keep focused.

BTW: I NEED to purchase a digital camera and know nothing about what models are good. Suggestions anyone???

Thanks girls! If I could just keep my hands and the scissors out of my hair, Maybe I can get somewhere:-(

I love that bob! Its so cute. Good luck on your journey

Your pictures are an inspriation. Did you cut your hair because you said you were bored or were you transitioning?

When I cut it really short (the crop cut) it was because I was bored. Then I started growing it out again. After I grew it out maybe to chin length, I decided to stop relaxing and started transitioning...When it comes to my hair I can't keep still! Recently back in early May, I cut the relaxed ends off.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm trying to be optomistic about this grow out. Its a bit more challenging than those in the past, but I know where to come when I hit a wall :-) Ya'll are the best!

OMG you're the lady that I've been looking for since the first time I saw a pic of your hair! Now u gotta tell me what your regimen was when you had that fabulous bob...if you still remember. Do you remember what relaxer you used back then? I guess everyone from the old forums found their way here then. That explains why the more seasoned members have so much knowledge

I miss my bob :-( Hmmm, you have me thinking back here. I used Affirm Lye relaxer Mild and I think I was using Kera Care products (the hydrating shampoo, humecto conditioner, wrap foam)...and/or Biosynthesis to maintain my hair. Kera Care has the best wrap foaming lotion that I loved! I usually didn't use oils or styling products on my hair, but when I did, it would have been Aveda brilliant serum or the spray on sheen stuff. I'd wet wrap my hair and sit under the dryer. Sometimes I'd follow with a flat iron, but I was able to just wet wrap and go without using any additional heat. I think that was pretty much it. Oh FREQUENT trims (a little too frequent), that's why my ends were always cut clean (unfortunately it takes longer to obtain length). When I started transitioning, I had to start blow drying my hair, so DEEP conditioners were a must and made sure I used a heat protectant before I flat ironed it, and then tied it up. Leave in conditioners are always a must.

I call it the short haired woman's bun, lol. I just pull it back into a low pony tail with a ouchless pony tail holder. Then I use two thick scrunchies. If you can get one thats more rounded rather than the ruffly that's better. It's pretty much going to work the same way as those sponge bun makers you get at Sally's but its more flexible. I take one scrunchy and double loop it around the ponytail, then I take the other one, and slide it over the one I double looped. I then place a my finger in the center of the loose pony tail and fan the hair over the scrunchies. I secure with a beaded ponytail holder and carefully tuck any exposed hair under. Not sure if that makes any sense :-( I'm getting a digital camera this week maybe I can do a step by step? I'm not sure how many people are interested. I'll try to get a pic with my phone of the scrunchies though and post them.
