Do you IGNORE and pray that it stops?

Do you wash and pray that you're able to maintain the style (not trying to redo mini-twist weekly).

Do you NOT WASH, but apply something onto your scalp to help relieve the itching sensation??

Tomorrow will make a week since I've been in my mini-twist. They still look great and I want them to stay that way (at least for another week). I've been doing a daily herbal sprintz, but my hair/scalp has not been submerged in water. And I am starting to get the ever so slight tingle like my scalp is about to be in need for some cleansing

I wash my hair twice a week when in braids and twists, just as I do when not in them. I don't get any itches. The last time my head itched, besides the time I had a bald spot, was when I used to use products in my hair.

Hair products touching my scalp would make me itch something awful, which is another reason I don't apply anything to my scalp. When I'm wearing my hair out, I'm forced to use products to make combing easy but when they get on my scalp...ooo weee! The thought alone's making my scalp tingle. LOL

Perhaps my regular washing, my taking care to apply conditioner only to the hair and not the scalp (so I leave the bottom 1 inch alone), and the fact that I finish every wash with a long massage of my scalp while head is submerged in a water solution of ACV and EOs of rosemary and lavender, make a difference?

I would wash. I can't go too long without washing my hair. Concentrate on your scalp then squeeze the soapy water into the twists. When you are rinsing same thing squeeze the water into the twists then when drying don't rub the twists make a twist sandwich with your towel (towel-twists-towel) and squeeze. They don't get messed up that way

:yep: That exactly. The duration of my styles depend on how long they look good - with washing. :nono: I can't go too long without water on my head, as my scalp will start to go crazy.

I wash my hair once a week when I am in braids. *I was actually at a braider's house and when I said that I washed my braids once a week, she looked at me like I was on crack. Needless to say my hair is longer.*

Anyhoo, I usually have a spray bottle filled with water and about 5 drops of peppermint oil and sometimes spray that on my scalp between washings.

I think I have THE itchiest scalp in the SOUTH. I haven’t tried this yet however, someone suggested I should take allergy meds to calm the scalp down.:perplexed
