Hello ladies, I see that my "little" cousin has let the "cat out the bag". If I had known this before, I wouldn't have brought her dinner tonight! I'm really a pj and I need help/intervention. I told myself that I wasn't going to buy anything in 2011 and before I knew it, I was at walmart buying aloe vera juice and target buying Herbal essences long term relationship (only for the free leave in). I've (monique) have been lurking for awhile and the bad thing about this is that my cousin is really picking up some of my good and bad habits (hair products). Like Brionna mentioned earlier, I will reveal the whole stash. I'm waiting on my packages from carols daughter, folica, bear fruit hair, karens beautiful body, ebay and jbco, hopefully they will be here for the viewing. I'm also trying not to go to sallys to get the bogo free on roux products. Sally's already think that i'm crazy, because they could never keep creme of nature conditioner packets in stock (the one with the argan oil). The whole month of December, everytime the stock this conditioner, I would go and by 2-20 packets for 1.00. What's worse is that alot of this products, I haven't tried, but because someone on this forum reviewed or commented on the product, before you knew it, I was either ordering it or trying to find it locally. HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP! BTW, no my hair is not to my ankles, Im almost apl.

I was in Sally's and it was hard to resist the BOGO on Roux. My sister and I share products and she's sort of my "accountability partner." She would have killed me if I bought the Roux when I already have poos/cons by a bunch of other brands.

I really think you should sell some of the stuff in the product exchange area of the board. That's what I do when I go a little overboard. It is hard to resist a good deal, but don't forget that the sales will always come back around again.

Given the answer I gave in the "How Much Conditioner Do You Have" thread, I can't even judge. But man, that poor shelf. You have more products in the "glimpse" than I had in my whole stash.

Since it's two of you (as that's what I'm getting from your posts), both of you should join the co wash and deep conditioning challenges. I did this last year and 09 and it greatly decrease my stash.

And please, please, PLEASE don't buy anything new (you know, after you new shipments arrive).

This used to be more normal on here about one-two years ago. But now being simple is praised so that trend ended.

I was thinking the same. I remember a thread a while back where people were comparing their insane amount of products...and some were very insane...compared to some of those, Monique, you don't look so crazy!

OP if you enjoy your mini Skala store, have fun!

I would like to thank everyone who replied with suggestions and comments. I'm really going to try not to buy anything else this year. I do have anything products to last me for years and with all these products it's hard for me to find my staple products. I cowash twice a week and shampoo once a week. I deep condition 3x with heat, so hopefully with this regimine I should be able to use alot of my products (if I don't buy anything else)..

Can you help me with some other uses with skala other than cowashing? I understand you also use this for oil rinsing.

I think you should donate some. I will pay for S&H! I am only tryin' to "help," you out of the goodness of my heart! :look: :lachen:

I'm not going to judge the OP based on her stash but there needs to be a Sticky for a "Newbie's Guide to Starting Out" cause I'm sure there are others who are buying any and everything based on one suggestion. I used to be a PJ myself and at one point I couldn't go in a store without going down the hair care aisle and going to a BSS was like an adventure.

OP I suggest you sell some of the stash because products do have expiration dates. You want to get the full benefit of your products and if you are getting them at discount stores chances are they are soon to expire. See how long one bottle of conditioner lasts you and base your buying on that.

PJ in recovery speaking...

First things first, you have to get some will power and self control.

Second you need to just get rid of majority of your products, return the recent purchases you just made. You can get rid of most of that stash pretty fast if you make a good deal in the Hair exchange section we have on here. I'm sure people are just waiting for you.

Join the no buy in 2011 challenge, so you are held accountable for your own actions.

In the future, only buy from stores you can make returns.

Get a new hobby.. truth is we women, especially us Americans (tho I don't know where you are from) are big time consumers. Find something practical to spend your time and money on. Took me awhile to find something else I had an interest in but I eventually found other things to buy like cheap nail polish and cheap makeup. Keep in mind that this time around you can't make it get out of control again.

Stop trying to chase down the ultimate most optimal hair results. You hair doesn't have be Mega Super Mario bothers moisturized like people claim in reviews. This is a PJ's nightmare... chasing down the ultimate product. If you like reading reviews fine, but live vicariously you don't actually have to find out for your self. That raved product can just as well ruin your hair.

..and lastly... from your reduced stash figure out your staples so you have less desire to make more purchases. Stick with those and commit.

LoL wow, I almost thought this was a joke. These must be your staples?!
Happy Growing. I think most of us have alot of products, maybe it's the weak shelf that's making it looking worse than it is! Mine are stashed all over.

Man....Im sitting over here with 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners , 1 moisturizer and 1 oil!!!! I cant wait until Friday so I can stock up!!! I buy products in January, May, August in bulk.... I may buy something randomly but I am pretty cheap! Also my shopping schedule revolves around refund check time in school...lol

my exact face:lachen: But i cant talk because i have the same amount of products..probably more, i use to keep them on a book shelf & in a small 3 tower cart but now i store them in a HUGE 3 tower cart..the one you use for clothes & stuff:look:

WOW! I thought the OP was showing us a pic of the products she was selling in her salon or something at first.

But um... can you send me some please OP? :)

Monique you seriously do not need all those products. Like others have mentioned your products will go bad before you use them. Also, if you are running out to buy each product you hear of you can't really see how your older ones work for you.

Anyway, good luck you mentioned that you don't want to buy products this year. You can do it :yep:

That's a lot of product. I have seen worse. Your collection is mild compared to the pictures in some fotkis and in the "show your stash" thread.

Why is everyone acting like she has a bedroom dedicated to hair stuff? I've seen worse in the "stash" threads that have come up...I'm assuming the reactions are because it's a lot of the same products and not a variety.

I think the reactions are based on "who" started the thread. :look: If a more "popular" member posted the same pictures the reactions would be different.

i've never been in those 'show your stash' threads but same goes others (especially people with more.) I just can't see why you need them all.

If they are a variety i guess you could be using multiple ones at the same time but if they are the same?

No, I think it's because the OP herself (in the title and throughout the thread) stated that it is a problem. She isn't just showing her stash and saying she's happy with it - she's saying she thinks it's too much.
