For ladies that do your buns in the shower, at what point do you put your moisturizer on? I tried to do this last night and that was the only thing that I don't think I did right. I let the water run over my head while I was pulling it into a ponytail so when I was done, I ended up just putting moisturizer on the top layer of my hair and edges. It was either that or take the ponytail back down to moisturize which would defeat the whole purpose of doing it in the shower. I know when my hair finally dries, the inside won't be moisturized.

I'm confused

Do you guys put your moisturizer on while in the shower?
Are you letting the water run over your hair?

TIA

This is what I do after I shampoo and condition my hair:

* apply leave-in
* apply moisturizer
* comb hair back
* put into bun

Thanks for responding. So are you saying that you do this in the shower but you don't let the water run over your hair while you're forming your bun?

I have 4 1/2 months worth of new growth and my hair was much easier to manipulate under the running water.

When I was 10-12 weeks post relaxer I did my bun in the shower. I let the water run over my hair and then grabbed it and put in my ouchless band to make a ponytail. I didnt put it into a full bun, when I got out of the shower I just put my spray leave-in and my mango butter on the top and edges of my hair and I put mango butter/EVOO on the ends of the ponytail, bunned it, and put on my scarf. I didnt take it down. It worked fine.

I know this is an old thread but I'm sure someone can benefit:

Another option is to apply your leavins on top and then use a applicator bottle with a pointy tip to squeeze leave ins and oils into the hair while it'a already up in a ponytail or bun.
