I'm going to try a squeeze bottle:

I'm hoping it'll allow for better precision than brushes and/or popsicle sticks :ohwell: I think I'll nick the top a bit to make sure the relaxer'll come through. :yep:

Has anyone else tried this?

ETA: How long can you leave mixed no-lye relaxer in the refridgerator?

I think the nozzle in your pic is probably too small. I tried a squeeze bottle and the nozzle was about that size but still too small. The relaxer comes out in much smaller line that you think and trying to squeeze out more tires your arm. So make sure you get a nozzle that bigger than you think you need.

That is an interesting idea! Only thing that came to my mind when I read your post was that it would be kinda hard and time consuming to actually get the relaxer into that bottle because the relaxer has a thick consistency and is not pourable.

I think that I will try an icing (pastry) bag at my next relaxer. It would be easy to fill and you can get the tips in large sizes. Icing is about the same consistency as relaxer.

One thing to note though. I think an icing bag would work well for me because I have help with my touchups. DH does the application and I smooth. I think it would be easier to have another person to apply using a pastry/icing bag. It would probably be hard to apply with a pastry bag if you were doing your hair yourself, because you really need both hands for precise application, one to direct the tip and one to squeeze.

The bottle would probably work better if you were doing it yourself.

This sounds really interesting. I just ordered the butter blend relaxer system from Mizani and it includes a squeeze bottle. I was thinking when I saw it if that was supposed to be for the relaxer:confused:. I guess it would be faster than a brush and less chance of overlap.

I use ORS relaxer and it was pretty easy to get into the bottle. I used a tongue depressor to scoop it into the bottle. I think a butterknife could be used also.
