Which one of those products on sheldeez is the lye version? I'm assuming that the sensitive scalp version is no-lye but I don't want to make any mistakes.

And what else am I supposed to get to go along with it? I'm thinking of switching to lye from no-lye. And all the no-lye relaxers I bought came with everything included.

I'm 24 weeks post-relaxer and I stretched my hair today (I haven't combed it in a couple of days even though I've done conditioner washes almost daily. I conditioner wash and put it in a bun.) and got excited that it's less than an inch from the top of my brastrap. Yaaaaaay!! So, naturally, I'm anxious to see how long it is.

I'm thinking of relaxing it if my rollerset doesn't produce the desired straightness that I want to see and I want to be prepared to order. I don't want to blowdry it and my ends do not dry straight. There is always some character to them (probably from the underprocessing I did in the past

OK, enough rambling. Can anybody help me out? TIA!!

The sensitive scalp is no lye. You need to buy the normalizing shampoo and the after relaxer conditioner (Positive Link Conditoner). Everything is optional. I've used the no lye in the past and it made my hair thin and dry but that was my hair. Everyones hair does not respond the same

Best of Luck

I got the Fiberguard Conditioning Creme Relaxer (mild/lye) along w/the Normalizing Shampoo, the Preservo Chemical Block (a conditioner to be applied to relaxed hair only (not new growth) to protect from overprocessing) and the Gentle Assurance Sensitive Scalp Protector (so that I would not burn). I did not get the Sustenance Fortifying Treatment. The price was way too steep. I think $40 or so. All turned out well.

I use Affirm Fiberguard (normal) because I have 4a/4b resistant hair. I use Preservo Chemical Block and Gentle Assurance before relaxing and Sustenance after. I am not that impressed with Preservo (you could probably just use conditioner or some other petroleum based product) or Sustenance Fortifying Treatment (I like Affirm 5 n1 Reconstructor much better). Just keep in mind that Affirm Fiberguard is milder than the regular Affirm relaxers.

Thanks cary and LiqueXX. I was wondering what all that other stuff was for. I think I'll get the chemical block and the gentle assurance and the 5 n 1 reconstructor along with the relaxer and shampoo. And thanks for the heads up on it being milder. I may have to do my hair in halves if that's the case.

i used the no-lye sensitive scalp version and i won't be using it again. it didn't burn my scalp but it made my hair dry and broke it off.
