Hey ladies, I've been growing my hair since August 2004 but have had numerous setbacks with big chops and dealing with extremely dry weather and cold climate in Colorado for 9 months out of the year. I am getting married on 12 July and I am two (2) inches away from APL. I really would love to have BSL hair by my wedding. I have recently bought a BSS wig and 2 full lace wigs to hide my own hair for as long as necessary to attain this length. What do you ladies recommend? I have 4a/b hair that I get relaxed every 8 weeks, I am trying to alternate between a homemade protein deep conditioner and a good moisturizing conditioner (which i have yet to find). what growth aids are you ladies using? I have a very busy lifestyle but I will try to wash and deep condition every 3 days from now on.

Please help me. Any growth aid recommendations and moisturizing conditioner recommendations are very highly appreciated.

:wave:Mocha,
First off you will be a beautiful bride with or without BSL hair. I really hope you do make it to BSL especially since it is not a unrealistic goal.

Have you tried vitamins and protein shakes?
Biotin, MSM, B complex, I am sure their are lots more. Candy-C raves about how vitamins have contributed to the majority her growth, she is one of our Midback/Waist length sistahs.

I have also seens lots of the LHCF talk about how increasing their protein intake has help with their growth.

For external use BT has gotten a lot of positive feedback. I haven't tired it personally but there are a lot of success stories out there about the product.

Girl, you will make it with only 2" to APL, BSL will be right around the corner in no time. Just keep treating your hair like gold :yep:

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials! I understand your distress. However, I really, really, think that if you protect moisturize and leave your hair alone, you will make your goal. You have enough time to get there, AND even if you don't (which I KNOW you will), you will still be marrying the man of your dreams, and he will still love you.:yep: Don't stress, be happy!

Congrats on your wedding! Well i know you will be BSL by then and if not darn close, regardless you'll be a beautiful bride.

Ok since you're hiding your hair in weaves, could you stretch from 8 weeks - maybe 12 weeks? I'm natural but I know once I leave my hair alone (weave/ lacefront) and spaced out my colours i seemed to see a lot more progress....

I agree, try stretching your relaxers, adding vitamins to your regimen and moisturizing daily. My favorite moisturizing conditioner is J Beverly Hills Masque.

keep those ends moist, keep up with your protein treatments, have a healthy diet with lots of water. you can try scalp massages also.

stay faithful! you can do it
you will be beautiful on that day no matter what. and your fiance will think so too- with or without any hair at all! Don't let the hair get in the way of the purpose of the day, or this special time leading up to the ceremony. Celebrate and enjoy your engagement

Congratulations

I'm not an expert however I lived in co for about 10 years....the water is hard, so make sure you have a moisturizing shampoo (maybe even try a filter or bottled water) Consider cw midweek, also oil rinses. Hiding your hair is great because it protects your hair from the wind and the sun rays. Make sure to baby your ends, and don't forget protein, and water....hope this helps!
