This was interesting!! I live in AZ where there is virtually NO natural scene whatsoever!!! I would love to be in a place like Australia (or Eastern or Southern good ol' USA) where being natural is more embraced.

I thought it was so interesting to get a perspective from someone "indigenous" from across the globe not from the Americas nor Africa talk about their natural hair.

Thanks for the article! I'm currently in Australia and it was quite interesting to hear her story!
When I first arrived here my hair was relaxed and I went between that, straight wigs and once extensions. Since my big chop I've been rocking my natural hair/twist outs and I've only heard compliments from the people around me. They can't seem to get over the texture and curls and they all seem to want to feel my hair!! :lachen:I can't help but love the attention :rolleyes:
 
That is really cool to get perspective from a woman from another country!

I was kind of amazed how she had to google the "hot comb" and other heat styling appliances that most americans and some european blacks find to be commonplace.

Nice post! I enjoyed reading it!
