Hi girls!
I talked with a new stylists today named Sherlonda. She was reccomended by one of the ladies on the board, and she works at Pretty Lady Hair in LA. We discussed the strengths and areas of opportunity of my hair and I set an appointment for Dec. 2. However, I may call and cancel depending on what my research yields.
So here are my questions/concerns:
1. She said that uses a relaxer by a company named Violet and that she's been using it for 7-8 years. Has anyone ever used this relaxer? I had heard of some of their other products, but I didn't know they made relaxers.
I'm a little skeptical about trying out a new brand of relaxer after stretching for umpteen week. Any reviews or knowledge on this brand???
2. I explained that I wanted to follow up with a protein/reconstructor of some sort 2-3 weeks later so that my hair would be nice and strong before I left. She asked why I wanted to do that, and I explained that it was something I had done the past few times I had gotten a relaxer and it kept my hair from shedding after the relaxer. My strands have a tendency to rain out of my head right after a relaxer so if I did deep moisturizing conditions 3 or 4 times before I did the reconstructor, I should be straight...right?
3. Has anyone ever gone to this chick? I can't remember who suggested her b/c I read this rec a few months ago and added it to my database of stylists
4. Do any of the LA ladies have ANY suggestions for a healthy hair stylist who knows how to properly apply a relaxer to a LOT of new growth and who won't chop my hair off????
Sorry this is so long...any feedback would be very greatly appreciated.
