Slowly Overcoming the Battle

Ok so I'm going to tell you a little story.

I have been experiencing hair loss, for one reason or another, for quite some time. It has been a long battle over the years. Earlier last year I did 2 BKTs 3 months apart. At the time my hair looked amazing! But over time my hair died strand by strand.

My hair has been falling out from the root ever since, as if to purge all of the old BKT'd hair. Hence, it has thinned out considerably, compared to what it should look like.

My hair reacted to the BKT as if it were a really bad and overprocessed relaxer! And I now feel like I am transitioning out of it.

I recently took down the braids in my siggy which I had in for a week shy of 2 months. In this video:

Extension Takedown

And here is what the hair looks like before and after the braids:

Current State of Affairs

I did chop off hella hair all over not just that section in the middle.

At this current time I do have many new hairs sprouting all over my head, I call this Baby Hair Syndrome.:lachen:

I will continue to trim the ends every few months to help thicken them back up.

It will probably take me another 2 years for my hair to get to where I want it to be as far as length and all over thickness. But I will keep working at it!

My biggest pet peeve is thin uneven hair.

I was contemplating shaving my head, but since doing this video I have decided against it. I hate short hair on myself and need to be able to at least put my hair into a ponytail, so I am going to keep it for now as long as it is not breaking like crazy. Just cut what needs to be cut for now.

I am taking vits consistently, occasionally using coffee rinses, and applying sulfur oil to my scalp every other day. I am cowashing every 1-2 days and wet bunning until I put my hair up into my next protective style. These things have helped me considerably to regrow all the hair.

My length goal for this year was originally MBL and there is really no telling if I will make it there or not. :look: If I do it will be that back tail section..:perplexed

This post would be better with comparison pics from over the years to give you an idea of what I am dealing with but sadly, fotki is down for a while... :nono:
But even though my hair does not really look bad it is maybe 1/4 of its natural thickness..

I wish u many blessings on your journey back to healthy hair!

I'm going through pretty much the same thing, so seeing your positivity is inspiring. I know you will recover and come back better than ever, and so will I.:yep:

How sad!
Keep up your journey and your hair will be back to normal before you realise

Oh dont say sad!! Its just hair!
It will take time but I will make it back to the fabulousness that it used to be.

Very Nice & Detailed Videos. Not a big video person per se, but I'd watch yours.

Very precise and informative. Sorry about your setback, but you have a great game plan for recovery.

Daily bunning & sulfur have helped me a lot too in my hair journey. Just make sure to baby your edges due to the bunning. Overall it sounds like you have a great plan. Good luck to you! :)
