At first I thought in the 3's..but your coils are a little tighter. So I would say you fall in the 4a's....

At 15 week post, 3c hair is wavy not coily or curly thus I think 4 something. The hair on your nape may be thinner/finer than than the hair at the crown.

I've found that people see curliness/silkiness and automatically think type 3. 4a can be very curly and coily (and is not necessarily coarse).

Like mwedzi said... are your coils coffee stirrer (type 4), penspring (type 4) or pencil sized (3c)? Looks penspring to me personally

The crown area is most definitely penspring. My sides are slightly looser than that, but still around penspring. The nape area is a bit different, though. It's looser than my sides, but I don't think it's pencil-width. But, like was said earlier, I won't know for sure until I go natural. My relaxed hair could be altering the curl pattern.

I don'd think you can always tell based on the size of the curl either. I'm 4a, and my curls are pencil sized and bigger.

ETA: Then again, don't mind me because my hair asks different depending on what I do to it or what products I use.

SO true...sometimes, a person's hair will be exactly the same as another person, type for type, but if the person is white/light, suddenly perception changes it to another type all together.

I think you are a "silky" 4a , OP! Your curls are tight.

You are sooo tempting me. But I'm not as brave as you are, lol. You have a nice head shape. I have a big ole' head .

You guys were the first people to tell me I have a nice head shape. All my short life I got the big head comments lol. So, I know you can, & should at least begin transitioning. I remember when I first decided to transition, I felt like a traitor to fellow relaxed heads, but I got over that real quick. Don't suppress those pretty curls! Let them be loose & free.
