sleeping with foam rollers

Hi ladies,
I am wondering if it is healthy for your hair to sleep in foam rollers at night. I 've cut my hair short and without curls my hair doesn't look nice. Does anyone knows what I can do about it?

I never was skilled with a curling iron, and so have slept in foam rollers for years. I always use end papers and do not roll too tightly . . . really just the last 4 to 5 inches of my hair. I have NOT suffered any breakage or other damage as a result, and because I have done it for so many years, discomfort is not an issue either. You said that you have a shorter haircut, which leads me to believe you'd roll your hair all the way to your scalp. If so, it may cause some discomfort.

I use sponge rollers wrapped in end papers sometimes as well, and haven't had any negative effects either.

Hi ladies,

Thank you very much for your replies. If I understand well I just have to use the end papers and then roll my hair in. I am going try that

I also sleep in foam rollers. I took an old silk scarf and cut it into strips to wrap around the rollers, that way I don't catch hairs on the rollers. My ends come out nice and smooth.

DITTO.

My cousin used to sleep in foam rollers all the time, but she didn't use end papers. Her hair always looked really dry... make sure you use end papaers.

I forget who makes them, but I saw satin wrapped foam rollers at K-Mart.
