Sleeping in Full HEad Baggie...

I am a 4a natural... I want to know if any of you ladies sleep with your hair baggied every night... I was thinking of doing this, which would hopefuly save me from leaving the house everyday with completely wet hair... and also from having to use a blow dryer daily... What my plan was it to Co-wash at night and apply my leave in... then baggie after its only 25% dry, so it would still be pretty wet. Then I'm thinking in the morning I can shake it out, apply my styling product and go. By the time I leave my house, my hair should be 75% dry as opposed to still dripping or only 50% dry. Do you think all this moisture would reak havoc on my hair, or help it?

My experience with moisture is that natural hair thrives with it. You have to try it out and see if it works well for your hair- but when I whole head baggied,I didnt have a problem.

When you did it how often did you do it?? I want to do it about 4-5 times a week, until the weather get warmer....

I did it daily! My hair liked it. The only reason I stopped doing it was because as my hair got longer, it would start to tangle in the crown. from the wild way i sleep . It was all good when my hair was shorter

I do it every other day during the summer time, and do it occasionally during the rest of the year when my hair is extra needy.

I think I will try this then starting next week and if I notice any negative effects, I can always stop. Thanks girls! Hopefully this will also help out with my dryness issues...

I'm a 4a natural and I full head baggie almost every night. I CO, air dry, apply conditioner and Castor oil, braid and put on the bag. I have had no problems with it and my hair stays moisturized all day.

i love doing my full head but it started to get cold in nyc:lachen:but when it really warm in the house i do , it like now:yep:

I do it everyday. When wearing braids, I don't use any sprays or leave ins, but I wash and CW often, then sleep in a plastic cap every night. And my hair hasn't had any problems with this.

When I wear my hair out, I use SCurl as my leave in. I usually apply it to my damp hair in the morning after a wash and wear my puff all day. At night, I apply SCurl again, since on wash day by the time my hair is completely dry, the SCurl I applied to damp hair seems to be no more. I then put my hair in plaits, and allow it to dry some (I do this early in the evening) then at bedtime, I baggy. In the morning, the dampness from the baggy makes undoing the plaits and combing my hair into a puff a breeze. One the night of Day 2, no more SCurl is needed. My hair still feels moisturized and soft. I plait, and baggy again and enjoy the ease of styling in the morning. Because of the baggy, I never have to apply anything more to my hair till wash day. It stays soft and moist.

I've baggied for so many years, that sleeping in a plastic cap is now second nature. I don't think I ever stopped ever since jheri curl days. Whenever my hair wasn't relaxed, I baggied.

NB: I have never baggied damp hair. Besides the dread that I might catch a cold, going to sleep with damp hair seems to give me a stiff neck. Then my overactive imagination gets visuals of "mildew" - as one finds if clothes are stored while damp - and the thought makes my head start to itch. :spinning:

I baggy my whole head as well. On wash days, I baggy with wet hair. I haven't had any problems with bacteria of any sort. Its worth a try.

I LOVE full head baggy...thats the only baggy I do

the only tip is to not coat the hair is too much moisturizer.....the heat from your head will make a small bit of moisturizer go a long way
