Genius never dies!
Ladies, I can't thank you enough (thanks, Sareca and Maria ) for encouraging us to do oil rinses. I'm curious, however:

1. What's the best, most effective oil to use for the oil rinses and
2. What's your favorite?

I don't know what the most effective is, but I LOVES me some Jojoba oil. I read on this site that it is considered a sealing oil so after I put in my leave-in conditioner, I lightly coat my ends and wrap it or roller set it to dry.

My hair is soft and and has so much sheen when it's dried and styled... not greasy, and that lasts until the next wash.

I've only tried olive oil for oil rinses and pre-poos.

I've used products that contained castor oil and like them, and would like to try coconut and jojoba oil, but I love my EVOO

I don't know which is the best oil but I'm using olive oil!

Uh, what's an oil rinse? I did'nt read that thread:blush:

My favorite oil is Almond, hands down. Extra light virgin olive oil is a close second (if I can't get my almond oil). I have to admit, oil rinse doesnt sound all too good.

Yay! I love oil rinses! :yay:

red palm oil
aphogee EFA concentrate
alma oil

Dlewis has got me looking for shikakai oil. My hair loves the powder. :drunk:

I am basicially using up the oils I have purchased over time:

Olive
Castor
Hot Six
I am even going to use this neutrogena body oil since I didn't like for my skin (it's sesame oil based).

When I first started oil rinsing, I was using Dabur jasmine oil. It is heavily perfumey so I was trying to get rid of it. So far this oil has given me the best results with the oil rinse.

I tried olive oil. It makes my hair feel dry-ish, so I think I am going to stop.

I've used jojoba oil. I like it, but it's more expensive than the jasmine oil, with comparable results, I feel.

The next oil on my to-try list is castor oil.

I want to try castor oil.

I have all of these, and you really ought to try the Shikakai oil. It's great. You could conceivably mix with your alma oil. Me and my mother raided the Indian market this week and bought a load of stuff, including BioAlma oil. Couldn't find the BioAlma shampoo. But I think I'mma try mustard seed oil as a pre-poo. We'll see...

Your hair looks fantastic! :clapping: Keep it up! ;)
