Since I was tired of doing the same hairstyle...

I decided to install kinky twists!!!

I'm not sure that they're called kinky twists because I didn't use the kinky hair, so if anyone wants to help me out with that... I have no idea of what to do to the ends either :wallbash:

I'm 6 FT, so that gives you a clue to how long these things are... What was I thinking?? :spinning:

I think I was feeling myself in this pic... Don't judge me!! :lachen:

Thanks for looking!!!

Your hair looks good. It looks like senegalese twists. As for the ends just leave it like that.

They look like Senegalese twists. You did a great job on them !

6ft tall and gorgeous? You are a model !( you just haven't been discovered yet!)

I'm 5'2" so I envy tall girls...humph!

Looks graet!

What type of hair did you use, and if you don't mind, how long is your own hair? I'm asking because I tried doing extension twists on my own hair w/o using the Jamaican kinky type, and my hair wouldn't stay raveled.

I actually prefer this look versus w/kinky hair.

Did you get pre-twisted hair and crochet it in for the back? If not you've got some serious skills with the uniformed look of them. You should be in business.

The braids look beautiful on You. I think I might as well get my hair braided before my trip to Hawaii next month.

India

You did an excellent job on your braids. If you want to do something with the ends curl them with some perm rods and dipped them in some hot water if that is sythetic hair. But they look great like they are.

I am loving that style on you!!!! You did a great job girly, you have every right to be feeling yourself! And like others have mentioned, your eyebrows are on point!!!

I'm LOVIN the twist! I'm not big on weave but i've been told u can dip the ends in hot water and put em on rollers to help them stay.

And WHAT part of Florida u representin? And yes...your eyebrows are on POINT!!:yep:

They look like Senegalese Twists! You did a great job!:clapping: Represent for the Tall Sistas and the Floridians!:yay:

You SHOULD be feeling yourself, you look so pretty!

I say keep the ends as is, they look great to me and you probably are turning quite a few heads all 6ft with waist-length hair.

I used regular synthetic hair, and I'm having the same problem with the hair unraveling. When I get the chance, I'm going to twist the hair tight and then dip them in hot water so it will seal it.

My own hair is EL.

No pre-twisted or crochet hair, just 19+ hours of standing and twisting hair.

I'm from St. Petersburg FL.

Love it and it's been said before but "Dem brows girl is on point!!!" Your the second person today I've seen post with Senegalese twists so I'll take it as a sign that I need to get some. I've been thinking about cutting my hair and need to hide it from myself before I go from BSL to APL or worse EL because I have the urge to just cut, cut, cut!!!

You did a lovely job.

looks nice..very good job..

how about try doing an invisible knot towards the end so it wont unravel..its like a kntot that the africans do when braiding the hair they use maybe liek 2/3 strands to make the knot

eta--shout out to all my fellow tall ladies...we in here!!! ;o))))

Okay I have some follow up questions....What kind of hair did you use?

You could curl the ends using rollers...maybe but I'm not sure if that's the look your going for.

I love the look and the end result (you lost me at 19+ hours though - whew). They look great on you. I prolly couldn't handle braids that long but you wear them well.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT!!!!! you did a wonderful job!!!

those are called senegalese twist!!

I like the straight ends or the ones with a slight wave to them!!!! I think they'll look good any way!

ITA with all the other ladies...hair, brows, you all very PRETTY! And i've been doing this
type of thing since 15-16 so over 15 yrs now (and nothing could have helped me to learn myself better as far as hairstyles go(face/head shape). From one self-install braider to another KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. And from what i understand the hot water method only works w/ kanekalon hair (i.e. rollers, waves: by dipping).
