Silk Elements Lye Relaxer anyone?

Has anyone used this relaxer and which one? The Olive oil or Shea Butter and how did you like it? I read where some people experienced hair thinning and shedding after 5 weeks. I need your input cause I bought the Olive Oil Lye version.

i haven't had any crazy shedding due to the relaxer. Or any relaxer. Any shedding i get is usually naturally.

I used both. Shea first..then the olive oil. and i like the olive better. I texlax so i don't use this to get bone straight. I still have waves in my hair. The Shea Original one will give you super silky hair after rinsing out. The Olive is a little lighter, but i think it processes faster. I got the regular but i'm gonna use the mild next time.

this relaxer will give you super bone straight hair FYI. A little too straight to the point where it can get limpy. IMO. so just watch out for that if you want more texture to your hair. If your thick course, then it probably won't be as limpy as mine was cuz i'm fine haired

Thanks. How long did you let SE relaxer stay in to texlax? I'm tex-laxed by accident due to using Mizani BB. From start to finish, it stayed in for 20 minutes and I still came out tex-laxed. I even left it in for 25 minutes once and still had a you-got-to-be-kidding-me moment. I even went to medium (I started off with the light one) and still the same. So I thought maybe I needed a better lye relaxer but definitely cheaper one. I think Mizani BB is a low lye or something.

I think if you want straighter hair faster...the olive one in regular for 20-25 minutes with smoothing will do it. Actually the same thing will happen with the shea.

but silk elements in general is gentle if you don't smooth. Like ive seen relaxers straighten with minimal smoothing...but silk elements isn't that kinda relaxer. U have to smooth real good for it to get straight if that's what you're going for.
