has anyone here ever used both? If so, which do you prefer and why? I am wanting to relax my hair bone straight and am interested in these two relaxer brands.

tia,

Hey girl! if your going for bone straight, i would try Hawaiian silky or Minzani. For me. SE left me with Plenty of waves( and i used regular!) I'm not mad though, my hair was wayy thicker than it would be bone straight. HTH

I've tried both and I must say that Silk Elements is the best hands down. I noticed that my hair must be completely clean and free of any product in order for me to achieve bone straight results. If I have anything on my hair...forget about it!

I just discovered that SE is the best. I have tried Olive oil, Motions, and Mizani, they all suck on my hair. I have 4a/4b very coarse hair and each time I have relaxed with these relaxers they have left my hair unprocessed no matter how long I have left them on. I just relaxed my hair with Silk Elements and my hair is straighter than it has been in a long time.

cosign x100

Hair has to be clarified in order to get bone straight results. But Silk Elements leaves my hair very silky and soft.

I had a very bad experience with Hawaiian silky, so I don't recommend it. :(

hth!

Do tell! What happened with the HS?

I've tried both as well and I think I prefer the Hawaiian Silky. I think they are very similiar though. I prefer the texture of the HS and I think the HS is a little gentler than the Silk Elements. I don't think you can go wrong with either, however, they are both good relaxers.

Yea I was wondering how SE compared to Hawaiian Silky. Hawaiian Silky is a great conditioning relaxer....soft silky hair:)

I've tried both. Just used Silk Elements lye for the first time for my most recent relaxer.
Hawaiian silky left me kinda underprocessed and not so silky. Silk Elements so far is great. My roots are straighter and my hair is silkier. Having some shedding though. Not sure if it's related to the relaxer. Silk Elements gets my vote for now.
