I've just used this as a leave in and wondered whether it would be considered a protein or water based conditioner? Used in combo with Giovanni Frizz B gone and air drying - is turning out pretty soft.

It's a water based ceramide rich LI. The wheat protein is, before panthenol and the preservative. It's there to help your hair retain moisture.

Sent from my Speak & Spell using LHCF

I haven't used this product but wheat protein impacts my hair like a protein whereas it helps with moisture retention for others. I guess it just depends on how your hair responds to wheat protein.

divachyk, wheat protein is the third to the last ingredient. I would not negatively impact your hair. It would need to be towards the at least the middle to cause problems. This is not a protein treatment.

MileHighDiva, that doesn't hold true for my protein sensitive, low porosity hair. My hair is impacted by wheat protein no matter where it's placed. That's why I tried to toss in the statement, it depends on how your hair responds to wheat protein. My hair is quite unique which works against me because a lot of neat products have wheat protein in the lineup.

My hair hates wheat protein but this item is really more of a leave-in softening product and not a protein based item. This product is a staple for me.

I consider it a protein based leave in.
For me, as far as leave ins go, if protein is anywhere in the ingredients it's protein based.

It may not be super duper strengthening (definitely not like CHI Keratin Mist, CHI Keratin Leave In, or Komaza Care Matani Leave In) but for me if protein is in my leave in at all I get some strengthening benefits from it.

Great to know Saludable84. It's hard on the streets for wheat protein / protein sensitive sisters. Random things that is moisturizing for some is protein acting for me.

I know. I didn't think id like and thought it would be too strong but it actually isn't. I have leave-in and moisturizers with any kind of protein, but this one actually does what it is supposed to.
