With Love & Silk
I used these last night. The rinse out on the wheat germ mask left my hair feeling very silky. It smells almost exactly like Aveda's Sap Moss line of products. It's a light brown creamy substance. I found that the Wheat Germ Mask also detangled well. I let my hair air dry for a substantial amount of time before using the Vital so that I could see how the Wheat Germ Mask faired on my hair once it dried. The results were soft, bouncy hair with a nice shine to it also.

The Vital was pretty much a liquid silicone leave-in type of product. It boosted the shine of my hair and gave it a silky feel as well.

I like these products, but I think I am still more impressed with the all over performance of the 10 en 1 (as far as Dominican products go) . I'm not sure if I would re-purchase the Salerm again, especially since I'd have to order it just to have it.

It was like a nice spa treatment with the scent and all.

Re: Salerm Wheat Germ & Vital

I tried the Salerm 21 and I love it. It made my hair very silky. I use it as a leave-in. I have the wheat germ mask, but haven't used it yet. I also have and have yet to try the Yurilen (sp) Wheat Germ Shampoo and Creme Conditioner.

I have both of these products at home and love them both. I used the Wheat germ about once a month. Yeah the Vital is basically a serum. I thought it was some type of treatment until it came in the mail. I'm not sure if I'll repurchase that one even though it performs well.

Ive used many of the Salerm products and to me the best BEST thing they have that doesnt compare to anything else Ive tried is the leave in. I could have Rock hard hair and a small dollop would do the work.

Re: Salerm Wheat Germ & Vital

My hair really liked the Salerm Wheat Germ Condtioner and Leave in my hair turned out great.
I wont order any more conditioner until I go to NY.

Re: Salerm Wheat Germ & Vital

I wish I could find this product. It's no where to be found in the D.C. area. Any ideas?

Which product are you referring to (the wheat germ, the vials or the leave-in)? Metrobeauty.com carries some Salerm products.

Re: Salerm Wheat Germ & Vital

Also - you can check with the Dom. salons in the area and ask if they know of anywhere you can purchase them. I know Luisa's didn't when I went there - but one of the others in MD might.

Re: Salerm Wheat Germ & Vital

I'm looking for the leave-in. Perhaps I'll call the Dominican Salon this weekend. I made an appointment to get my hair straightened for a wedding that I'm attending.

Thanks a bunch, ladies!

Salerm BioKera Vials

Not to get off subject, but has anyone ever tried to open one of their glass vials? I don't knowe how to open mine. It's all glass and not with a plastic tip like regular placenta vials.

Re: Salerm BioKera Vials

You have to use a towel to open it. Holding the tip of the vial in a towel, just snap it. Be careful in how you handle it though, it's pretty sharp. Also, make sure that you carefully discard it so children can't get to it. HTH

Re: Salerm BioKera Vials

Is anyone concerned with the alcohol in the Wheat Germ Mask? I remember reading the ingredient list and seeing one of the "bad" alcohols, so I didn't purchase it.

Re: Salerm BioKera Vials

Thanks daviine! and also thanks to tal for the suggestion on opening the vials! I wasn't too concerned about the alcohol only because this is something that is rinsed out. I would be concerned if it was a leave-in. I think that the oil in the hair mask overpowers the alcohol. Also, Biosilk Silk Therapy has SD Alcohol and I asked the sales girl in Trade Secret about this and she said that it was there to keep it in liquid form and pretty much evaporates, which kinda makes sense---when I apply rubbing alcohol, it evaporates quickly.

I was VERY concerned about the "bad alcohol in this product. However, I ordered some restructuring vials from Salerm and to my surprise when I received them, the 1st ingredient was alcohol

. But given the cash I just dropped on those babies, something had to give. I started doing some research to see how bad these alcohols really were (trying to justify usage

) and came across a little information. Basically alcohol in it's natural form is safe for human consumption. However, a special process is done to make it not consumable, which results in specially denatured (SD) alcohol. Upon further research, I discovered that many "treatment" type conditioners (I have some written down somewhere) contained alcohol. To include Aubrey Organics (they caught some flack for this).

The one thing I didn't come up with (which is what I was searching for), is the why. The purpose that it serves. Nontheless, I gathered that I'll go ahead and and use it, since it was not being left in, and closely monitor my hair for any adverse reactions. So far, so good
