Silicones and etc.

I've been using a few products with silicone and other type of "cones." I want to do a co wash but i'm worried that my hair won't absorb or keep the moisture because of the many cones. Will I be okay? Or do I need to shampoo to get rid of the silicone & etc...?

My regular conditioner has silicone in it and I use heat protectors that do, as well. I find that I have to shampoo in order to really clean my hair. I don't feel that I must use a clarifying one though, just a regular shampoo. Maybe you can try a moisturizing one, like Loreal's Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture shampoo or something like that.

I use a good amount of products that contain cones in them and I do conditioner washes several times a week. For these reasons, I reguarly clarify (once every 2 weeks) just to prevent any problems. If you are concerned about the cones causing you problems or you observe any changes in your hair as a result of the cones, I would suggest clarifying and see how that helps. I'm a fan of the Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo (it's cheap) and I usually follow up with a moisturizing shampoo.
