I get so excited everytime I hit a new milestone (i.e., found THE product, did a new style) and nobody cares. Either that or they don't understand. Being without chemicals is so foreign to a lot of people, shoot, it wasn't even a THOUGHT for me just last year so I understand...but it doesn't make it any less lonely. Thank goodness for LHCF, NP and blackhairmedia...

I know the feeling. Everyone thinks I was crazy for chopping off my hair. They thought I was gone do it to "throw some weave back in it." Like it was a style choice. Nevermind my relaxed and colored hair was snapping off left and right, I shouldn't have cut my hair off. :ohwell:

Please!

You have all the support you need on these boards. Just ignore the ignorant, because they'll be wondering what you did and used when your hair is long & soft like you threw some miracle product on it.

You ain't never lied!

I've had to stop talking to some people in real life about it, they think I'm crazy

I'll be excited if you find THE product...and then I will run out and get it myself

Thanks Channie. I love LOVE your hair. I was :drool:over your curls. LOVELY!

People here are good about being supportive, trouble-shooting with you and offering ideas that can help.

For me...I just found Christophe curl defining contour cream. It SMELLS incredible and it made my little curls pop like nothing else has.

Awww Booh, u serious; or did you just wanna talk; need some :attention:!!!!! If you're serious, come here, baby girl . . . :grouphug:

You never alone just think there are more women out there over the world wearing their natural hair just like GOD made it .

I have a saying..."you never get lonely on LHCF!" Welcome, and glad you decided to join  I'm transitioning so I know I'll be taking much advice about products for natchals :yep:

Awww...I'm sorry you feel lonely. But you shouldn't. You've got a whole audience here that are happy to hear of your milestones. Just don't waste that excitement on just any-ol'-body. Save it all for us. We wanna know! We want to share! We want to cheer you on.

I promise you, once you find your "niche" in the natural hair world, you'll not have to look for folks to tell of your achievements. Folks will be nagging you to know how you do what you do to have your hair look like it does. Then you'll probably come here and vent about how people just won't leave you alone and then don't want to believe what you tell them.

mamauv2: I totally understand. I feel lonely around town. I have not seen one natural head around here. (there isn't a large population of AA folks here, but still). My hair is out for everyone to see!!

I feel the same way. If it wasnt for the support of this forum and others alot of my hair goals woudnve been short lived.

I feel ya!! Its ok!! We're here for you!! I have to admit I feel lonely too sometimes!! I don't' know why people think that you can only be natural if your hair is 3c or better or if you have locs!! People keep telling me "I think you would look nice with locs" and I just go :look:. And then they shut up!!

I'm feeling you. When I went natural 15 years ago, it wasn't even as cool as it is now. I was also in high school when I did the BC! You talking about catching flak... One thing about Black folk, however, is they love long hair. Period. I found that once my stuff started growing out longer and healthier folks shut up and started asking me for advice. An added benefit is that soon people started following and now I have very few friends with relaxers. You may find this to be true in your case, too! You'll be the vanguard of a trend.

You know this whole journey taught me a lot even my past journeys...why because im so loneeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllly I have noboddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyy(singing)...

YUP I feel you but thats why I socialize about what interests me on LHCF...I only have one girlfriend that I can sit and talk about hair for a long time other than that ...nobody. everybody gets fed up quickly or simply not interested.

People dont want to talk about hair when my hair is short but I remember back than few years ago ....few girls in college would harass me and ask me what do I do to ny hair ...and they were listening closely (when my hair was mid back lenght) ...I dont get that anymore. But I couldnt care less honestly ...I like discussing!!! NOT giving speeches only..shoot

One thing I enjoy ...CHATTING MY FELLOW SISTAS HERE! :)

You will have those moments of feeling lonely...but keep reading the posts and you will remain confident and strong in your choice to embrace your natural hair. I will celebrate my 2 year natural anniversary on Oct. 01 and people still can't believe I haven't relaxed again. I did the big chop from below shoulder length...I endured stares like you would not believe...some were brave enough to ask if I had CANCER...when I told them I was just tired of the relaxer drama...I got the crazy stares..now that it is all back...they want to know is it weave...remember we are SPECIAL and RARE ladies...we have the this is me attitude...love it or not....I'm happy and I don't waste time on what you think about my hair...I usually wear it in twists for 2 weeks and condition overnight an retwist...this cuts down on tangles and your hair grows a lot because of no manipulation for 2 weeks...I work full time and go to school fulltime....little time for hair...WALK WITH PRIDE AND CONFIDENCE...slowly you will see others taking the leap toward natural:look::look::look::look:

I feel you girl! I just started out and am just now seeing how people DO NOT wanna talk about my hair journey even though I'm super excited about it! lol. But I console myself here on LHCF or on fotki looking at beautiful nappturals!

We're here for you though, girl! And some of us are going through it too!:bighug:

We care. That's why we're all here together. (((hugs))) Good luck on your natural journey.
