Washing it is okay, but I am getting increasing tired of rollersetting, detangling, styling it before work, blah, blah, blah. I sometimes feel it takes up too much of my time. Seriously contemplating getting braids, although I'm kind of scared because I want to make sure its done right with no problems. Anybody else feel the same?

Definitely. Also, I am about 10 weeks past relaxer, and I can't comb it dry without having a fight with it...I feel as if I spend half my day taming my hair. Don't despair, though. I keep telling myself how it will all be worth it in the end. Come on...say it with me

You know, I know I you feel. Once I start feeling overwhelmed, I usually just go to the hair stylist and let them pamper me. Sometimes doing your own hair can be a task.

I went natural several years ago. I cut off my hair up to about a half of inch of newgrowth. It was super easy to do while it was short, but as it grew out I had to spend more and more time doing it. I wish I could just grow hair and not have to do a cotton picking thing to it. Just let it exist.

I sound crazy I know. Im probably PMSing.

I get frustrated when there's a lot of new growth, I've got tangles, some new sticky wonder product has gummed everything up, and I've been wearing a bun for a month.

THAT's when I go to the salon and tell Todd to "fix it". The shampoo girl is starting to hate me because I'm her worst case scenario almost every visit...

No wonder you're tired, DR! You rollerset WAY often.

I'm going through the same thing DigitalRain. I recently got a cut - I thought it would help me through this "blah" stage but thus far it hasn't. I think I just basically need a break and have been contemplating twist extensions.

It's a disease many of us are suffering from

I have felt the same way for a while and so I've been wearing flat twists this past week. I am thinking about making this my summer style and just added a flat twist bun in the back. I use to do this all the time (last time I was natural). I would wear the flat twists for 2 weeks at a time.

Oh NO Sweetie. Take a step back and breathe. Don't do anything drastic. This mood will pass. You love your hair - you are not sick of it. You can contemplate braids but no thoughts of cutting it. OK?!?!?! Promise ;-)

I was like this too until I chopped it down considerably. I haven't started experimenting with this style quite yet, as it's already growing out, but I know it will be a matter of time before I get bored again.

Yeah....i am stone cold tired of my hair and doing it....- i am tired of worrying about how one side grows faster than the other or one day I suddently wake up with too much dandruff or worrying about how it will frizz up in the humidity or sleeping in rollers at night or my grandma and ma going on and on about how it's not as thick as it used to be.......Now in addition to all of that, I have to worry about dealing with two different textures since i am transitioning.....i am too scared to get braids, my ends do not do well in protective style, getting twists are too pricey for my budget right now...So i have just resorted to wearing fashionable headwraps everyday to match my wardrobe.....the less i have to look at and do my hair the better....Ladies, do not be surprised if I go the Big Chop one day soon.......

When I get in a mood about my hair I get it braided.

Girl get you some braids and in a couple of weeks you'll be dying to get your hands back in your hair.

I will restrain from going buck wild on my hair. I think I need a change. I'm too chicken to color. I think I will check into the braid thing.

I feel you. My hair is too thick and dry to style everyday for me, especially in this heat and having two textures on my head. I'm having someone come to my house today for some twists extensions. I'm looking forward to not worrying about combing/styling it for the next 2 months.
