Show & Tell: How Do You Organize Your Hair Products And Tools?

YvetteWithJoy

On break
How do you organize your hair products and tools?

Do you organize them by product type (all shampoos are together, etc.), effectiveness (favorites and holy grails are together, etc.), expiration date, some other way? Do you simply leave everything under the bathroom sink or in the shower? Do you have dedicated shelves, drawers, bins, refrigerators, or the like for your products?

Please share your photos!

I just recently separated my products into the ones I'm getting rid of and the ones I'll continue to use. They are all lined up in categories though... shampoos in one line, conditioners in the other, leave in sprays in another...

I have a closet in the bathroom where I keep everything. Thanks for making this thread, because I'm always looking for organization tips and ideas.

Large bin on left- creams, butters, moisturizers. Behind that - leave-ins, co-washes, rinse-out conditioners in current use. Small basket on left - essential oils & fragrance oils; Small basket on right - some K-beauty products. Large bin on right - deep conditioners in current use. Behind that, oils and a couple of serums.20170101_103808.jpg
On the floor: Hot tools, oversized products, some additional products

In the cart: Top drawer (not shown) has some makeup palettes & powders.
Second drawer - styling tools, hair bands, bobby pins, etc
Third drawer - Facial skincare/K-beauty products
Fourth drawer - Body care products - soaps, lotions, body butters
Bottom drawer - Shampoos, heat protectant sprays, gels, extra containers of hair products not yet in use.

I am about 1/3 of the way finished with purging, organizing, and storing ALL of my hair-related items (products, tools, accessories, etc.). The progress I've already made has me LOVING wash day, my nighttime face and hair routine, etc.

So far I have taken these steps:
  1. Separate: Collect staples and holy grail products, tools, and accessories.
  2. Organize: Using plastic baggies, group items in a way that facilitates my hair care tasks.
  3. Store: Using Dollar Store plastic containers of various shapes and sizes, store staple and holy grail products in my dedicated skincare, hair care, and makeup cabinet.
So peace-inducing. I actually exhaled when done. My husband's reaction/response was, "That's too many products!" But it honestly feels simple to me: TWO shelves for ALL products and ALL tools, except for my hair dryer, HairFlair attachment, and thermal cap.

I started out separating thing out by labeling many baggies in similar fashion to the one below.

This is what it looks like right now (below). I loved the CON green and red label, but I'm quite disappointed with the new formulas. Nonetheless I'm gonna use it up and then look for new shampoos and conditioners. Aphogee works great and so do oils. There are some products I would like to try out, but right now I'm team #simple #holygrailonly.
