Doing it my way
I may be one of few, but I'm in the habit of trimming my nape (if needed) when and if I want to wear my hair up (bun, french roll, etc.). I have the funniest hairline -- it looks like a large upside down "U" going down the sides of my neck. To me it looks "raggedy" if I don't bother to shape it up. I'm 4a and it's thick. I find myself needing an "edge-up" at least every ten days the more often I wear my hair in a style when my neck is exposed. Lately, my nape line seems to be growing longer down my neck when it grows back in. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the frequent trimming.
Am I the only one who does this? Is it wrong to interfere with your natural hairline? I love wearing my hair in a bun because of the low maintenance, but what (if anything) should I do with my nape?
I know a lot of you ladies are natural, so I'm sure you're more concerned with healthy hair growth than the way it comes in, but any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
TIA
