Should you pre-poo before CLARIFYING?

I have been pre-pooing regulary... But this week I need to do an Aphogee treatment, and I want to clarify before I do it... To pre-poo, I use castor or olive oil under a shower cap overnight, then I put a coconut milk cond. mix over that in the morning and sit under the dryer for 10 minutes...

My question is would it be pointless to pre-poo before using a clarifying shampoo? Wouldn't the clarifying action completely "wipe out" the pre-treatment?

I'm thinking that it would be pointless. Why slather all that stuff on if you're going to be stripping it off with the clarifier?

ummm, maybe it'll stop your from 'over clarifying' or overdrying and wiping out all of the oils that your hair needs to retain. Who knows. If u decide to do it make sure u use all your cheapie stuff and nothing expensive.
