I have been stretching for 3 months now and I am really itchin to relax:wallbash:
I want to go natural because I love the big curly hair look but I dont know if I can wait 2 years to do it. My length is NL right now. I guess this is one for those transitioners. What did you do when you had the itch to relax?:scratchch

I started transitioning at NL. I'm 18 months post today . I've haven't been natural since childhood nor have I ever stretched my relaxer past 8 weeks.

Would be be happy with your natural hair even if you didn't have big curls but instead small or undefined curls? You don't have to wait 2 years. You could do the BC now. You could roller set, straw set, use flexi rods to blend the two textures. My problem wasn't that I wanted to relax. I just didn't want to handle the two textures. I bun or use kinky twists. You could even flat iron to blend the textures (although that wasn't an option for me since I want to wear my hair in its kinky state and didn't want to jeopardize my curl pattern with heat) but others have success flat ironing throughout their transition.

The short answer to your question is: If I had a serious it to relax but I wanted to continue my transition I would flat iron to get the urge out my system instead.

ITA. I am transitioning and use this method but if you do be careful. Read all thread on how to properly flat iron.
