1. Maybe my hair does better w/ no lye
2. Maybe my stylist aint no good

To lose clumps of hair every time I wash is frightening....

Any ideas, guys???

I have 3a/b extremely fine hair....

BTW, when I used no lye my hair was sooo long.

What kind of perm does she use? Did the "clumping" start right after she started using LYE? How long does she leave it on? Does she overwork the relaxer in your hair? What's her process when she relaxes? You know neutralizer, conditioner, etc...

You may want to consider going back to what works best for your hair, including a new stylist.

I hope it gets resolved soon. I've seen other posts about similar situations where the hair wasn't neutralized at all or the stylist didn't do a thorough job with neutralizing shampoo. One of the remedies was to wash with a neutralizing shampoo to restore the hair to the ph it's supposed to be.

by all means! use whatever works well for your hair. not everything is going to work the same for all hair types.

If you didn't start experiencing any problems until you got a lye relaxer, then by all means go back to no lye.

I have a question for no lye users. I went to a new stylist who suggested I use affirm no lye, vs affirm mild that I normally use due to my fine hair and scalp issues. Well so far so good, (relaxer was Wed) but I'm wondering if I decided I don't like it in general will it be a problem for me to switch back? Will I need to do anything special? As I said before, no problems yet, I actually think the condition of my hair looks healthier overall and thicker, but am still watching for breakage, dryness etc
