I've been transitioning for almost 14 months, hoping to make to 24 months. My nape area has a very straightish texture which is also fine, and prone to breakage, even though its the longest area. I'm concerned that the weight of the relaxed ends may cause it to break or become more fragile, Should i just BC that area instead. I'm not willing to use protein because it makes my hair too dry.

it depends on how much relaxed hair you have in that area

i'm wondering how you know the difference if the area is already straight

maybe just a big trim

I agree with MrsPortugal...do a big trim. I cut my nape too, so it's all natural but I didn't have much relaxed hair back there to start with due to breakage.

My nape area when wet has a slight wave, hopefully i should be able to diffirentiate the different textures. I'm not sure how much relaxed strands left, but i think i will cut them when i loose out my cornrows. thanks ladies
