I've been wearing short wigs for a couple months now as I've wanted to try something different apart from the longer wigs I'm used to wearing. Up until this point, I've been wearing the "finger roll" wig by it's a cap weave, and alternating with the famous mommy wig we all love so dearly. I decided I wanted to take things a step further and try a straight short wig. I was scared out my mind, because I hate the "wig" look and I wasn't sure how I would get a short straight wig to look natural. I took the plunge in spite of my fears and purchased the "indian tara" wig by it's a cap weave. And as a sidebar, I love the entire line of It's a cap short wigs in general...I find that it's good quality hair for the price and feels great. Below is the wig I purchased in color 1B.
When I got it in the mail (It's remy hair and I paid 26.99 for it), it sure didn't look like the model's! It was ugly and old people looking! I FREAKED OUT! I was so mad because I thought that I wouldn't be able to do anything with the wig! Can I just tell you all that it pays not to give up so easily?! I went ahead against my feelings of frustration, and fiddled with the wig on my head, it has no combs in it, but adjustable straps. I pulled the straps to the tightest, but it was squeezing the life out my head...LOL!! For the first time, I undid the adjustable straps, and just tucked them in under the wig, and surprisingly enough, it still felt very secure. I think once I get used to the unit being on my head, I'll use the straps... But anyway...I spent some time playing around with it while watching other people's youtube videos who purchased the unit as well, all trying to figure out what to do. I managed to find a place on the wig where I can put a part with my foundation and brush...then I decided to use my flat iron and curl some random pieces to give it some movement, and here's what I came up with...
The Verdict: I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!! I've been fooling people all day! Since everyone is used to seeing me in the curly units, pictured below, they assume I just straightened my hair! lol... I love it!! I'm gonna buy another one of these and just keep it for back up. Short wigs are awesome!!! So convenient too...I don't think I'll be rocking long hair wigs anytime soon! Up next, is the LA JAY wig by Vanessa! I can't wait for that to come in the mail so I can show yall!! thanks ladies!!
MY USUAL STYLE...the finger roll by It's a cap weave!
BY THE WAY....SORRY FOR THE HUGE PICTURES! LOL....
