They are both proteiny, but do u think that they work in different ways? It seems like the shikakai strengthens your hair from the inside and that Aphogee strengthens the outside. What do u guys think?

I used both and I would go with the Shikakai. The Aphogee does very little for my hair, espcially after I deep conditioner with MOP Extreme Moisture. Or, even if you add some Aloe Vera, honey or oils to your DC, you won't even be able to tell that you used the Aphogee treatment.

Shikakai works as a light protein for me, I don't see dramatic results afterwards like I do immediately after a 2-step Aphogee. However, i think it may be more lasting if I just have to use it more to get the benefits
