My hair has stopped breaking for the most part and I have acquired 1-1/2" of new growth in 6 weeks! It is stronger and softer, too. But I've noticed more shedding.

Maybe it isn't "more" than normal for me, but I'm noticing it because they are whole strands, not broken strands. I think I am balancing protein and moisture properly. I am stretching from 6 to 8 weeks and planning on adding a week each relaxer cycle, if I can. Do you think it could be the stretching?

I know that in the normal hair growth cycle, old hairs are shed and replaced by new ones. So maybe that is a good thing. Huh?

Bumping...

Should I have entitled it: "Help! Should I be Concerned? I'm Shedding!"?

It's perfectly normal for hair to shed up to 100 hairs PER day. Shedding is completely normal and nothing to be concerned about.

i was tyring to figure out the same thing. i know it's normal to shed 100 starnds a day but i think if i shed that much i'd be bald.

It could be your new amount of growth. The longer the hair gets the more shedding, I find.

Same thing here.:D

That is good to know. It seems to be the only reason my hair sheds without explanation. bonjour
