Have you used the 10 in 1 masque? I used that one, and my hair felt soft and strong.

I use it and have about 4 for back up. They are really good and the protein helps with the moisture. The 10-in-1 was too strong for me. But each is own.

My hair felt stronger with the 10 in 1 than the JBCO one. I noticed that some people said that the JBCO masque was a protein conditioner, so I was confused.

No it's not. But it has keratin in it. By that standard a good amount of their masque are protein conditioners because they have keratin, silk or rice protein in them now.

Yes I alternative between the 10 in 1, the castor oil and the shea butter. I just bought the manuka honey I can't wait to try it. it smells fabulous! I use shea moisture exclusively.

Just because protein is in a conditioner does not make it a protein conditioner. A lot of people think that.
So what does make it a protein conditioner? I'm curious because sometimes I will buy something I think is moisturizing and it has all the moisturizing ingredients on top and then will have some sort of hydrolyzed protein in it and then it wreaks havoc on my hair.
I have my staples but I want to be able to try new things without having a set back.

Sometimes it really is just trial and error. I look to see whether it's hydrolyzed or not and its position in the list. Some proteins, even in the smallest amounts, can have adverse reactions and sometimes your hair just doesn't agree with the protein.
Another issue is that some oils can act like protein on your hair. Unbelievable but real life.

I hear coconut oil does that to some people. Interesting. I always think any type of hydrolyzed anything makes it a protein conditioner. But idk anymore. At this stage in my journey I know what my hair likes so I guess I have to be prepared for a just in case emergency when I use something new.

Just be careful. Im scared to try new things too but I at least try to scrutinize the ingredients and keep actual protein marketing products to a minimum.
Coconut oil was a no no when I was relaxed but natural, it likes it. The problem now is avocado oil.
