...Does anyone use this? Do you like it? Is it better at moisturizing than their regular conditioners?

Thanks in advance! :yep:

Nope, Im looking for some feedback as well. I have the leave-in treatment, and I think its way too heavy for my hair. I can only use it as a sealer.

I don't like it as a deep conditioner. It doesn't give slip or detangling at all to me. But as a moisturizer/sealant for my ends it is wonderful.

I'd like to know as well. Anyone giving feedback can you post your hair type as well.
LaughingOctopus What's your hair type? I'm a 4a/b and was hoping it would work for me.

I use it as a leave in along with the smoothie for moisture. I have 4b thick strands. I use the shea moisture black soap condish as well. I really like it but my hair pretty much loves every shea moisture product it has tired. Some better than others but I have yet to find a product from the line that I would kick out the window.

Is this the one in the brownish label? I don't like it either. I'm mostly 4a with sprinklings of 4b up front...very fine hair all over. To be honest, I didn't get around to using it as a DC but I could tell it wouldn't do a great job at it. I used it for a braid out and the smell is very strong. At first it was a bit off putting (and unlike most people I love the smell of the hibiscus products) but I grew to like the smell of this one too.

It left my hair kinda sticky and weighed down in the braid out. I haven't used it since because I like the milk and the curl creme much better than this stuff. I'm glad I bought it on sale so I didn't waste too much money. Needless to say I won't repurchase.

I agree. As is, it works better as a leave-in. But for deep conditioning I had to mix some olive oil in it. I just pour the OO directly into the SM jar, mix and use it that way. I will say that even thought it doesn't have slip, it definately stops breakage. Or it did for me. I apply it and a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for 30 mins.

But my fave deep condition by them is the "Anti-Breakage Masque" in the green bottle. The smell is VERY strong and flowery which isn't my preference but it leaves my hair really silky and it helps with detangling.

Did you use it on soaking wet hair or damp hair. When I first tried it on soaking wet hair it was a fail but on damp hair it was a win.

I dont care for it either, I dont like the smell and it does nothing for me as a DC

I use it only for twistsing my hair, gives a nice soft twist out.

Actually I think its the scent of the argan oil, this is the second product with argan oil that I didnt like the smell of.

ETA: im 4b

I was just thinking about this product today. It was absolutely useless for me. I am a 4a/3c with fine, very fine, medium, and a wack patch of very thick strands. Relaxed/texlaxed. After rinsing it out, my hair feels the same as it did prior to applying it. Like I just shampooed. No slip at all. In fact, it was kind of gummy like castor oil. I lovelovelove it as a leave in. But I only used a small amount an just wanted to get rid of it so I mixed it into my other DCs as a filler when I was scraping the bottom of the jars.

It needs oils to work, and even then it's just "aight". I won't buy it again. But I do want to try the anti breakage masque along with their other conditioners and products. But definitely an awful DC

As a dc, it was whackadoodle-doo. But as most of the ladies have already said, it makes a pretty good leave-in/moisturizer on damp hair. I won't be repurchasing, though.

Don't like it as a dc, but I mix it with oils and it is ok. Good leave in but I don't like the smell. Will not repurchase.

This Did Nothing For My Hair As A Deep Conditioner.

This Product Only Works For Me If My Hair Is Soaking Wet And I Apply It After A Leave-In, Oil, Or Grease. (Yes I Use Grease:lol:)

I don't remember for sure but...It was probably soaking wet because I had the intention of dc'ing with it. I don't know why I did a braid out instead. I'll try it on damp hair next time I use it. Thanks for the tip.

I might give it to my niece actually. She has 4b hair that's much courser than mine. I need very light products for my hair because my strands are so fine.

Hated it!

It did nothing for my hair. I mean nothing. I also tried the Yucca one and it made my hair feel like it had been shampooed and stripped. It was horrible. I took it right back to Walgreens and got my money back.

Not a fan. But, I'm not surprised. I have finally learned that my hair hates Shea. It sits on top of my hair like a waxy build up. Not a good look...

I absolutely hate it as a dc. It did nada for me. I used it up by using it as as a leave in when I apply S-curl and seal with coconut oil. If I didn't wig it during the week, I wouldn't use it at all. I buy the regular conditioner (with the pump) when I seal now because I really didn't see much of a difference between the masque and the regular conditioner.

ETA: I even used the masque crap under a steamer. A steamer makes all crappy conditioners work.......not this one though. It's like a Kang of deep conditioners.

It worked good for me a DC, but it didn't give slip. I had to add another conditioner on top.

I'm a fine 4b natural btw.

I agree with everyone. But, use it as a twisting/braiding cream with a little bit of gel and you'll have bomb twist/braid outs.

I didn't like it as a DC. It was too heavy and thick (and I normally like thick DCs). I ended up mixing with other conditioners and it worked for me.

looks like i'm the only one who really loves it as a DC, leave-in, moisturizer and styling aid. i have to contend with hard water, severe pollution, and extremely dry air. i really believe it helped save my hair. along with their shampoo, elixir, and shea butter.

the very first time i used it, i didn't like it, but think it was because i didn't clarify my hair first. once i did that, it was wonderful. in my current routine, i use it sort of like a second DC/leave-in treatment before doing my cornrows. after water, its my main moisture source before heavy sealing.

no, it doesn't have slip for detangling, but i never thought that's what it was for.

if no one wants theirs, feel free to help a sista out...can't get it here and most places (like Walgreens) won't ship to me.

i have this DC.. it sucks for me. I will try it as a sealant... I was going to give it to my brother, to see if it did anything for him. if not then ill sell it for cheap to you nisemac

nisemac - I didn't think to clarify before using it. I may get another container to see if it helps with the dry winter weather.

What's the average cost to ship it to you to where you are?

Did not work for me and caused my hair to matt :( I have used before and after clarifying. My hair type varies and I am not sure what it will be until I am fully natural but I seem to have a mix of 3c, 4a and a patch of 4b! I mixed it with other deep conditioners until it was gone. Will not purchase again.
