I installed a sew in about 3 weeks ago so that I could prolong my touch up. Now I'm ready to take it out today but I am wondering how long I have to wait before I can relax my hair. I know that I have read information on this in a thread before but I can't seem to find it. Also any other tips you guys have for me prior to relaxing would be greatly appreciated. TIA for your help.

I'm not relaxed but I suggest waiting at least a week or two to relax your hair since its kind of fragile right now.

I would wait two weeks before relaxing and give your hair a soft protein treatment in that time.

i personally would wait 2 wks or more but since u didnt keep the install long, maybe 1 or 2 wks at the least

I would normally wait at least a week after getting my installs to get a relaxer so I had time to do a protein treatment and let my hair "recover" a little. I have relaxed a few days after an install, but that never seemed to work well; my hair just acted funny. HTH

BTW, this was before I was taking care of my hair. I was relaxing and installing, relaxing and installing like a hair dummy.

Hey Girl,

Two weeks would be my recommendation- but if you absolutely have to, wait a week.

Good Luck!

Since you only had it in for 3 weeks, I would wait one week and do a protein treatment.
