Hey ladies, I'm trying to locate some info on prepping the hair for a sew-in. My mom is considering getting one and I wanted to give her some pointers. TIA

When I'm about to get a sew-in, I prep my hair the following ways:
-clarify my hair
-do a mild/moderate protein treatment follow by a deep moisturizing treatment.
-blowdry my hair
-moisturize my hair and scalp

These are the steps I follow which has helped me. I hth.

Thank you very much!!! What do you use to moisturize?

I use qhemet's aohc but you could use any type of moisturizer you want even diluted moisturizing conditioner will work. Once weaved up I suggest getting a spray bottle and diluting any moisturizer with water and spraying the braids 2-3 times a week (I have been using kinky curly knot today and water 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle and it has been working great so far).
