Sew-In Advice Needed

Hi Ladies,

I've been thinking about ordering some hair from Extensions Plus in Relaxed Texture and getting my first sew-in, So i had a few questions that i wanted to ask.

Where is the best stylist/salon to get it installed at in the westchester ny area?

I still want to be able to do updo styles and ponytails, which parts of my hair should be left out?

If im only doing a partial sew-in is 4oz of hair good enough or would i need more?

I'm 5'1 and I would like the hair to be at about APL, would that be 10'' or 12" of hair?

The amount of weave you need is a matter of preference. Also, keep in mind that the longer the hair, generally the shorter the track. (I think it is once you get toward 18 inches the start getting shorter)

This fotki has a lot of installs http://members.fotki.com/amandita-bhm2/... including ones that go in ponytails. Of course you need to leave out your entire perimeter and probably a horseshoe, but how much should be determined by your stylist...she may need more to cover your braids, your hair may be thicker than the next girl's...etc.

I'm no weave expert. I just finished doing a bunch of research on it. So, ladies chime in.

Hey,
I figured I'd help out since I'm into weaves.

Have you also looked into Halley's Curls hair? My stylist said it was really good, i've never tried it, but i've heard good things about it and compared to EP, its more reasonably priced.

I live in the South, so as far as NYC stylists, I can't recommend, sorry.

As for updos and ponytails, make sure enough of your edges and nape are left out. Make sure they don't braid too tightly.

I think you'll need a little more than 4oz. As Ediese to make sure though.

at your height, about 10' would be a little past APL or right at it depending on the brand you use.

Good luck and post pics!
