Helloooooo
Anyone home?
No?
Okay, well...
Yesterday was wash day for me and I started rollersetting but I got tired when I realized an hour into it that I was only 1/3 done. Rollersetting is my preferred drying method but it just takes me so much longer to do on my natural hair.
Do ponytail rollersets actually work on natural hair? If the roots can actually stretch, that would be great. I remember bookmarking these two videos. The second one would be perfect for styling, but her hair looks so silkier/looser textured than my hair when wet:
How long does it usually take you guys to install?
Did my set this past weekend and I think this is the best one I've done on my own hair in a while. I am the zen master of roller setting on everyone except myself. Anyway, rather pleased with the results. Immediate difference in smoothness.
This is a day-old set, and I'm very happy that my ends are still tightly curled. I came straight out of the rollers, did a very light tap on my roots and stuffed my hair into a bonnet for the night. Pic is when I got up this morning.

Beautiful! What type of rollers used? Are you natural or relaxed?Products used:
1) Shampoo and conditioner -Biolage Fiberstrong
2) Deep conditioner - Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask
3) Detangler/Leave in - It's a 10 Plus Keratin Spray
4) To Set - Diluted Lottabody (plus more water as needed)

Gorgeous hair!! What is the ratio of lottabody to water that you used for the set?
Planned to do my first rollerset tomorrow after washing my hair. I'm now reconsidering it. I watched a few youtube videos and realized that rollersets on 4a/4b hair looks sleeker on stretched hair vs freshly washed hair. I'm thinking of holding out until I have stretched hair again. Perhaps I'm overthinking it. Do any 4a/4b naturals do their rollersets on freshly washed damp hair?
I do my rollersets on freshly washed hair. Your sets will come out better if you wet each section before rolling. It needs to be wet not damp. Make your sections small so you can pull your roots taut. Sit under the dryer so the heat can dry your hair while it is stretched. Air drying allows your hair to revert to much while your hair drys and it's too hard to get a straight set.
Let your hair cool before you take out the rollers. But you can definitely get a nice looking rollerset on freshly washed hair.

My henna color is really pushing through.
Are you all lighthanded with your leave ins when putting in the rollers, or is it ok to M&S normally?
