I'm not really a fan of a lot of black hair ads because they always look tacky and make black women look unsophisticated. I wonder what image that portrays to all other cultures.
Well, I can tell you.
perplexed
I think the reason why they do that is so that the consumer will be able to "see" the actually product in the ad. If they used a wig that blends in with the model's natural hair, then the consumer wouldn't be able to "see" what they are buying.
Remember...most vendors have a no return policy on wigs.![]()
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaaaahaaaahaaaahaaaaaaaaAt least they are not as bad as the horrid Janet Collection lace front ads where they refuse to cut the lace at all.

I think Platinum nailed the reason. Additionally, I have seen products questioned on BHM -- whether the model WAS wearing a weave/LF or if they just found someone with gorgeous real hair to photograph. If they do the mismatch, it's clear 1) where the wig begins and ends; 2) that it IS a wig.
Wow.
Yeah... That makes me wanna go right out and buy these things....
This is really what they think of us - I guess that we are ignoramuses that will buy anything.
I've seen MANY ignoramuses walking around with wigs like this. Not so much the lace fronts, but plenty of mismatched half wigs. These ignoramuses are buying and wearing these wigs just like the pics, unfortunately.
