You have got to be soooo patient to have been transitioning so long!! Are you still transitioning or are you all natural?

Serenity your hair is amazing! Question- Did you straighten it and trim on your own or did you go to a shop. If you went to a shop, please give me the 411 since I live in Chicago as well.

I went to a shop in wisconsin, and believe it or not - a white girl blowdried and lightly flat ironed it... It didn't last very long (maybe 5 days), but it had a serious shock factor at work! This pic was taken 3 days after the original straightening - didn't have my camera at the time, but i was still very happy with it.

I could give you her info, but she's kinda far...

I also went to a salon here in Chicago... Jessiedean... She did a nice job... You could try her...

I wish I had a really good regimen to share, but don't think I really do...

I co-wash my hair most days during the week with herbal essences long term relationship... Lightly rinse my hair, then blot it with a towel... I add a TON of eco styler gel to the front and sides and brush the hair back into a ponytail or bun.

Every 1-2 weekends, I will wash my hair with Creme of Nature shampoo, and use a heavy conditioner to detangle my hair (my fave was the emergencia 911), and then leave some in to deep condition while i complete errands. Then I would rinse it out, and maybe do a ponytail or bun again...

I haven't been good about trying a lot of new products or styles for the sake of efficiency, but if I had the time i would... I bet my hair is cursing me for not giving it the care it deserves...

Yes, I am still transitioning (going on 72 weeks now). :grin: I currently have 3 inches of relaxed hair left. I hope to be relaxer free when my two year transitioning anniversary comes (October 27, 2009). We'll see. :)

Great updates! Your hair is just GAWJUS!!! I especially love the blow-out reversion look. I've just started playing with that myself & it's my favorite style now.
No need to tell you to keep up the good work-it's your standard.

Jetblackhair, I WISH I had a true regimen to give you (some ladies on here are sooo disciplined and I admire that!)... I basically will condition wash my hair any day during the morning that its above 10 degrees (and if I am not going to be out for long periods of time)... I ALWAYS air dry my freshly cowashed hair (I find that the curls hang better and more defined that way - when I have tried to diffuse my hair, it ends up really frizzy and dry). Most days my hair is back in a ponytail or a pony/bun (where you almost make a full pony, but then wrap the band over one last time without pulling the hair through... I have a picture below:

Outside of that, I sleep with a silk/satin headscarf everynight, and detangle every week (or every other week if I don't have time)... It takes me about an hour to detangle my hair with my denman, which is why I only do so every week or two.

This just about cracked me up! I am happy that my fotki is enjoyable to others! Lord knows I do my fair share of stalking, ... I mean, visiting, :yep: other albums!
