Sera252 Did Her First Interview For Us!!!!

I love her hair and all, but I had to unsubscribe to her videos. 6 hours of detangling? Also, she seems to have a bit of a snooty attitude so I just won't boost her ratings. Sorry.

Snotty attitude? I don't get that at all from her Fotki or YT and I've been a visitor of her Fotki since 2007. I'm glad she has taken her time to be so thorough and complete in her documentation as well as answering our questions.

For those of us who have really tangly hair it's comforting to see someone with such long hair who also has to spend hours detangling. Not all of use have hair that can be successfully detangled in 30mins.

I am glad that she was willing to do this for us. I have spoken with her in the past and she has always been very sweet and always willing to give advice.

You all know my motto, each one teach one. If she can help just one person it is worth putting this together, so I have no problems doing this.

All of the questions have been answered now. These vids are posted up above and also posted in the sticky in this forum.

Wow it's great to see 4B natural hair that is long. It's possible, indeed!

I think it is awesome she took the time to do this. Everyone's hair is different. I used to think that naturals were crazy when they talked about their hair dreading because I myself don't have that problem but every one is different. If she is happy taking 6 hours to detangle her hair then more power to her.

Also, you have to remember that it really is not a lot of time if you wear your hair in twists for 4 weeks. Divide that time by 30 days and it is less time then the average person spends on their hair.

Naturals spend more blocks of time on their hair but really it is not much if you compare it to working on your hair 15 mins a day times 30 days.

Her hair is proof that she is doing something right.

What I like about her is that she doesn't have some big complicated routine and he hair is still beautiful. That is my philosophy. I am still figuring out what works for my hair but I know that 10 different products and techniques ain't it.

I think I kinda understand where you're coming from. She seems reserved/prim at times. Some people (usually the more outgoing among us) aren't used to folks like that and/or feel uncomfortable around them. It might just be a clash between your dispositions....I'd propose however, that we try to exercise more open mindedness and get to know (and appreciate) the perspectives of people who are different from ourselves. After all, it takes 'different strokes to move the world'. Right :-)

Further, if you reflect a little about the amount of time that you noted she takes to detangle, her personality might make more sense to you. Who would be more likely to have that much patience/time? An outgoing socialite with a million friends and engagements? Or a reserved, quite, introvert? Sera's disposition might actually be what is contributing to her ability to retain length. If length is your goal, it can therefore be seen as a strength because her hair is now an undeniable testiment to the fact that, if you're willing and determined enough to put in the time/effort it takes, even the most 'Afro' of Afro hair can get to waistlength! :drunk::yep:

Thank you for this thread! Very good information. I can still use this information even though I am relaxed. Thanks again MsCocoface!

Thank you for putting this together, Mscocoface!

ETA: I don't think she's snooty. She seems like a very intelligent and articulate lady. I'm glad she took the time to do the videos and answer viewer questions. I wish her much success in the future.

Thank you for coordinating this Mscocoface, there is much for many to learn on this forum, and from those who have learned much on their journeys like Sera. I will be watching attentively!
