Sept 2017 What Did You Buy This Week?

@Aggie @halee_J @Bibliophile
Early in my HHJ I was buying alot of the Da.bur Oils, but stopped when I switched over to Handmade/Naturals.

Ya'll don't curr about the Min.eral Oil etc..?

@IDareT'sHair

I dont think this one has Mo in it. @Bibliophile can you confirm? Ack, I hope not I was planning to apply to my scalp. Im still going to make my own but itll take time to "brew"

Ramakrishna mahabhringraj brand doesn't have mineral oil.

Some of the brands with mineral oil work better for me than the all-natural, unrefined, organic stuff.

For example I can't use coconut oil in my hair except the processed stuff -Darbur Vatika and Parachute.

The mineral oil in my hair oils acts as a detangler and defrizzer. Plus it's easily removed by my shampoo bars.

I lurked for years on (now defunct) Indian message boards to get the "real deal" on the hair oils.
I avoid brands that contain heavy metals and other toxic ingredients.

These brands I use don't have mineral oil:
Auromere*
Banyan Botanicals Bringaraj
Baidynath Mahabhringraj
Dabur Shankpushpi
Godrej Anoop
Kottakkal Nilibhringadi
Ramtirth Brahmi
Ramakrishna Mahabhringraj
Sesa oil

*I forgot to add this

I bought some synthetic kinky hair lol. I am going to try and make my own clip ins. I got the 12" Cuban twist hair. Bought some extension clips 20 in a pack. Gotta get the thread.

The hair looks just like my hair. I want to have some hair out in the back without compromising my own hair. Its going to be cold! I hope I don't feel weird about wearing them. I shouldn't because they'll be kinky not unrealistically straight. I don't know.

These aloe leaves are a different brand than my last ones, more expensive and poorer quality. If I did not need raw aloe so bad, I would have left them. I must find another source.

Man I wish I could find large fresh aloe out here. The best I can do it buy a plant which is sooo small. It looks like a small cactus. I used two celery sized stalks and like half the plant is gone. I felt so bad for the plant so I haven't bothered it since

I even repotted him in some nice soil and into a blue china planter :lol:

Have you tried finding a Latin, Mexican, or international market? Some natural food stores may have it in the produce section.

I live waaay up in the great white north. In a very very small town. There is one Asian and one indian store and they carry verrry limited fresh produce. There are no mexicans here. If there were I would have seen them :lol:

I have good news about hurricane Irma for the Bahamas - we here in the capital will only be experiencing very light tropical storm force winds from her around midnight tonight until about 7 am in the morning, thank God. Bad news - Hurricane Jose (a category 4 hurricane) is right behind her so I still cannot get too relaxed just yet.

I hear there is another storm behind him too but as of now, it does not have a name yet. I pray they all just go away or die out in the Atlantic Ocean. The prayer warrior in me can't stop now.

I have been praying about these storms all week and will continue to pray that God will intervene and stop them all in their tracks before hitting us. There are many of us here praying. It is so true, prayer and praising God really changes things.
