Sephora has more prestige brands but Ulta is better on your pocket. You can also use the salon or spa at Ulta.

If you are looking for expert advice, tips and information, Sephora. Sephora trains a ton more than Ulta does, and most of the Sephora folks are licensed makeup artists or enesticians so they know their stuff.

I generally do Ulta for my drugstore makeup and my hair products. High end cosmetics and skincare I exclusively go to Sephora.

BOTH suck because they're too freakin expensive!

maybe when i graduate, and i get a real job in the real world... then i'll be able to shop at either place

i agree with missB... i dont shop at sephora becuz i cant afford it and ulta is quite convenient. has all i need plus its cheaper.

I like Sephora if you want high end stuff or good advice, but I usually go to Ulta. Ulta has the points that rack up for free stuff or they send $3.50 coupon or 20% off coupons every week. They tear that part off of the sale paper they have in the store but you can also print it off online.

i guess i am biased since i have only been in sephora once, and that was in the one in times square just so i could say i had done it :look:

but like others have said, ulta is less expensive and always has coupons for something...and there is no pressure to get something. of course, like mentioned, it's better to go in knowing what you are looking for since i asked once about a sedu and the lady didn't know wtf i was talking about. i did get a very personalized experience in sephora...i asked for a concealer that matched my skin tone and the chick gave it to me, showed me how to apply it and everything.

but er uh yeah...now i'm split. i say ulta for hair, sephora for makeup.

Ulta's coupons are fabulous! That's why they are better. Even without the coupons their prices are still reasonable.

For hair, I'd pick Ulta HANDS DOWN. :yep: The selection of both salon and drugstore brands makes it a much better choice than Sephora in that arena. Now, if we're talking about make-up and perfume, Ulta can't hold a candle to Sephora, IMO. Skincare is pretty much a draw, but Ulta has more reasonably priced products.

sephora, for their no haggle no hassle return policy alone. ive only been to ulta a few times and i feel like most of the stuff there i can find at my local cvs for cheaper. but its very well organized which is nice
