Hello everyone.
I have been lurking on here for a couple of months now trying to read old posts and discussions to get caught up before I jumped in, but what I realize is that I will never get up to speed, so I am jumping in....
I live in Columbus OH and about two years ago I let my little sister put micro braids in my hair, at that time it was shoulder length and it hasn't been the same since. When I took the braids out, I had to get it cut it was so damaged. She cut it just below my earlobes and I haven't gotten it to grow past my nape/jawline area before it starts to break off again. When I wash my hair it tends to come out by the roots several strands at a time. I haven't gotten a routine down just yet, but I have tried the baggy method. I baggied at night and just my ends, then I baggied for 5 days straight, the whole head for most of the day. (I had lasik surgery and took time off from work to relax). After that I went back to baggy my ends at night for about a week, that did help with the moisture. This week I am wearing my hair out and next will go back to my ponytail and baggy. I have very weak and thinning edges. I've tried, temple balm, no luck, WGO, no luck. I'll be experimenting with some other methods I have read on here. I color my hair because I have an insane amount of gray. I use botanic oil by Nexxus in the solution which helps retain essential oils usually lost during the coloring process. I used to use a Rusk flat iron, had it for 4 years and one day it stopped working. I went to folica.com and read reviews on each iron and ended up getting the Solia. It doesn straighten my new growth like my Rusk, but does a great job on the rest of it. My new growth still has the wave pattern in it. I haven't a clue as to my hair type or how to figure out what it is. If there is anything I missed, just ask.

I really am glad to have found this forum. Ya'll have a weath of knowledge and I enjoy reading the topics and discussions.

I am glad you found the forum, too. Welcome. I read a few years ago, that the foti root (chinese) can help some people with greying.

TY everyone. I am sure ya'll know how addictive this site is and I won't tell you how long I have been on here, but I am gonna jump off because I have an hour left of work to do and need to make up for all the others hours I have been surfing.
Peace
