Selfbraiders... does this happen to you?

It's really annoying..

When I braid my hair, because of the natural roots and the relaxed ends, the natural part curls and then the relaxed just lays flat.

I look like coolio..

And it won't settle.

Who else self braids, and might have some ideas.

I've tried rebraiding them, but they still do it... So annoying...

What happens if you either do it while its wet, so you can get the braid tight to your scalp and stretch the new growth?

Alternatively, what if you blowdry to straighten the roots before you braid?

I think I'll try it wet. I didn't mind when I was all natural, because then it'd be braids all curled and it looked cute.

Now it just looks ridiculous, LOL!

I'm half way through this set, so next time I'll definitely try it on wet hair.

That's exactly why I add extensions.

I'll be doing extensions during the summer, and for now, I'm just getting my practice on with my own hair.
