Self relaxers who use semi-permanant color

Those of you who self relax and use color, at what point do you apply the color? Do you rinse relaxer, color, condition; or rinse relaxer, condition, color etc.

I look forward to your responses. I'm thinking that the hair needs conditioner directly after the relaxer but I'm also thinking that the conditioner will weaken the color.

I don't relax and color on the same day. I don't like too many things going on at once, lol. Increases the probability of an unfortunate mishap

I wash, apply the color, condition, condition (yes twice, lol), apply leave in, maybe castor oil to my ends, and roller set.

Its quite low on Hydrogen peroxide and thats in the activating lotion. The color tube has no peroxide at all. If you have an adversion to peroxide (even this low) it probably isnt for you.

I have fine/medium hair and its been great to use. Permanent color really screwed my hair up in highschool so I wont touch it anymore, so doing a Demi is perfect for me.

I use it without heat for 15-20 minutes on the day I relax. I touch it up every 6 weeks or so and thats the only time I use heat with it. Though heat makes the color last longer. However directly after a chemical service, I don't do it with heat as a precaution.

The color dosen't come off on my pillowcases, which is fantastic, but it does slowly wash out in 4-6 weeks. I mix clear and the dark brown together though sometimes I'll go a little wild on the color( the garnet is really nice looking) and mixing together is a breeze too.

I tried Henna, I tried Cassia and I just keep coming back to this because my hair feels strong and looks fantastic without all the mess.

I always DC after coloring, even if I'm just doing a color touch up. If I don't my hair feels rough and unhappy.

I buy it at Sally's (I've never seen it anywhere else)

I've used Sebastian for some years now and last year added Color Showers to the stable and have seen the best results when I texlax, neutralize/chelate, color, wash w/moisturizing poo then DC.

It's another brand of cellophane that I started ordering from roundbrushhair.com when I first heard they were discontinuing Colour Shines.

Thanks for breaking it down, I don't think I have any problems w/ peroxide. I was using Bigen and it gave me an allergic reaction so I switched to Robert Craig and got the same allergic reaction. So, I have been thinking of using a Demi for awhile now.

PennyRene....I find the color lasts about the same. Really no time at all since I cowash in the spring/summer which is why I would like something more permanent now. But when I'm not cowashing I use a color rinse every 2 mos when I relax. Sebastian is very good but I never hunted any more down once it got discontinued. JFYI...John Frieda's color glaze is also very good and it only takes 3 mins.

Is this product easy to use? Is there alot of measuring and mixing? I've seen this at Sally's and have been wanting to try this product as semi's wash out too quickly for me.
