Kinky twists? I can do individual braids, but my kinky twists kept falling out. It was sad. :nono:

I just did my first set of kinky twists. I have found that the twists all around the hairline i have to braid a little farther down--and then twists cuz they were slipping out.

Also, try not to pull your pony tails and various styles as tight etc...as you would w/ single braids--that was causing some of mine to slip as well.

Ooooh, those are beautiful!

Yeah, those are very nice. What brand/kind of hair did you use? Those came out looking very much like your own hair! Good work!

Thanks you. I got the hair at one of our larger Asian BSS. (our small ones don't carry it)

it is 'pre-sectioned' and if you use it straight from the pack it is below BS lenght, but i cut the pack in half and it turns out layered and shoulder lenght.
only $4.99 a pack too!!! (I used 2).

Braids by Breslin has an excellent collection on how to do all sorts of braids. I used this method to do my kinky twists and I also used regular braiding hair to do the twists. They looked great but I did get a chance to take a pic, but Netta also used regular braiding hair to do her twists...she had fabulous results and took pics! ANyways you can get the video from this site www.BraidsbyBreslin.com, they are worth it, she gives clear concise directions and she goes slow so that you can keep up.

Great, 'cause I ordered them this morning. She had the best prices and was the only one that had video clips.

Thanks Alli!

Me too. I never knew there were braiding videos until I got to this site.
I used to have people braid for me, but it was getting too hard to find someone to braid at home ('cause there is no way in hell was I going to pay the inflated prices at a salon), so one day I was in Sally's and this lady was there with braids and I asked who did them, she said she did, I asked if she could do mine, she said no she wasn't into doing other people's hair (can't say that I blame her, because as soon as I started doing my hair, chicks were all over me to do their hair) but she grabbed a plastic bag from the checkout counter and used that to show me how to add an extension, lol!! She used the bag because this was way back before they even carried phoney-tails so there was nothing "hair-like" in the store.
I noticed I could do a better job and faster than anyone who ever did my hair, plus it was free.

Thats right girls..dont be a slave to those darn stylists..its way cheaper to do it ya self, I pay a whopping 15 bucks to braid my hair..and that is for the cost of the hair, and it takes me about 1 1/2 days to do it...it would be fatser if i didint dawdle around the house and take breaks..but its worth it to learn for your self..
